Power For Women are a community driven women’s self-defence organisation dedicated to empowering women with the practical skills they need to stay safe in real-life situations.

They will be giving us a live and interactive demonstration of some self-defence techniques to protect you in the domestic sphere!

Whether commuting, at work, at home, or travelling, they provide self defence training designed to address the unique challenges women face today. As a family-run Community Interest Company, they are passionate about creating a supportive environment where women of all ages can build confidence, feel empowered.

Anna has a colourful and extensive career as an actress in theatre and film, alongside her work as a voice over artist, writer and radio presenter. She will be performing her own spoken word poetry as part of the interactive walk and we're so excited to have this exclusive live art 😍

Anna is widely known for her empowering and liberating feminist arts education workshops and as artist & maker, 'Miss Trout'.
She is also a proud mum of three.

📢Meet the Speaker📢

Sgt Amanda Hanusch-Moore will be joining us to speak about her research and work around coercive control and language, as well as information about Claire's Law and available resources through North Yorkshire Police!

Amanda Hanusch-Moore is a police sergeant with North Yorkshire Police specialising in Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). She has been with the police for nearly 14 years and prior to that was a primary school teacher in Bradford and Cairo. Amanda has recently graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a Master of Science degree in Criminology and Evidence Based Policing and hopes to do a Phd when she has recovered from the shock of her Masters.

I had never heard about Kyra, but I have never looked back since joining.

An upsetting event in my family affected me badly and I could not understand why I was not coming to terms with it, especially when I had survived other, more horrible events. I found that this had acted as a catalyst to open up past horrors which I had buried deep inside.
