Thank you for coming to support Friends of Danesmead Wood today at our first craft fundraiser. We saw some great mobiles, crowns and candles being made.

Making plans for next weekend? Think about dropping by Danesmead Wood for some craft activities. All ages welcome, 2 pound suggested minimum donation.

Our next event is coming up soon

Join us at Danesmead Wood Sunday, 19 July from 1:30 - 3:30 pm.

We will have craft activities to try out, inspired by the lovely summer species in the wood:
- Make and decorate your own toadstool
- Create beautiful rubbings from tree bark
- Hanging baskets
- Make nature-inspired paper chains and crowns
- Bring along a jam jar to decorate using motifs from the wood

Fun for all ages. £2 is the suggested minimum donation per child

Proceeds will fund all the work we do to maintain and look after the wood.

Wildflowers in full bloom this weekend as we cleared out weeds and cleaned up the paths in Danesmead Wood.

We are getting ready for our crafts event on 19 July. Come along for a lovely afternoon out, getting acquainted with local species and making some art.

Minimum donation £2 per person, adults are welcome in addition to children.

Forget-me-nots were in full bloom during today's work day at Danesmead Wood.

As it's no-mow May, there was no mowing doing this week. Instead, we worked on clearing stinging nettles and cleavers, and pulled up balsam by the root.

The oak tree saplings are doing very well this year, come see their progress and enjoy a peaceful walk in the wood.

Danesmead Wood looking particularly beautiful with bluebells, pink bells and forget me nots.

We had lovely weather in the Wood this morning.

We got to work scything and raking stinging nettles, and pulling up other species. This provided mulch to protect the saplings and encourage their growth, and allowed us to make space for the wildflowers before their arrival later this year.

Thank you to everyone who came to our Easter hunt in the wood today, the weather was kind and all the children seemed to enjoy themselves.
