The FireBikes were out again today, in the hands of Andy and Karl. The guys headed into 'the dales' to chat to bikers at Manor Farm, Devils Bridge, Ribblehead and Hawes before returning to base.
All the team are passionate about reducing motorcycle casualties, and encouraging riders (and drivers) to consider taking post test training, such the Enhanced Rider Scheme, Blue Riband Advanced Rider Award, RoSPA, BikeSafe, or the IAM.

Volunteer rider Ian S was out on one of the FireBikes today, to assist Humberside Police to deliver their latest BikeSafe event. 10 candidates, 5 volunteer Observers representing RoSPA (John and Rosie) IAM RoadSmart (Darrell and Steve) and Ian, plus 5 Police riders. Ian was paired up with Andy on his Triumph 660. Andy is a returning rider after 6 year break, but does have previous experience of post test riding and driving, so he was pretty much on point from the off, only needing a few tweaks here and there.
Many thanks to Humberside BikeSafe team. A brilliant example of partnerships working together to achieve the same goal. Casualty reduction.

FireBike volunteer rider Karl, has been out today, helping to deliver a Biker Down UK at Huntington Fire Station. Some great 'hands on' training that could literally save someone's life. If you've never completed one, you should seriously consider it.

Are you a biker? Would you know what to do if you were first on the scene of a motorcycle collision? The actions taken in the first few moments after a collision can make a real difference.

Biker Down is a free course run by bikers, for bikers, giving you the knowledge and confidence to help if the worst happens on the road.

Book your place on one of our upcoming courses: https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/biker-down-4060653?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=creatorshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=odclsxcollection&utm-source=cp&aff=escb

Busy day yesterday for FireBike team rider Karl. First off he visited Kirbymoorside Fire Station where they were delivering a BikerDown course. It was then on to Richmond emergency services day, then Masham steam rally with a final stop to chat to bikers at Pateley Bridge. Team rider Ian S attended Humberside Police BikeSafe event on Sunday. Ian met up with the other volunteer observers from local IAM and RoSPA groups and was then allocated his candidate, Craig on his Tiger 800 Sport.
Craig is new rider, having only passed his test in January 26, so it's great to see him already looking to improve his skills. Out on the road Ian and Craig worked on Craigs forward observation, positioning and speed management. All of which saw improvements throughout the session.
Back at Melton, it was time for final debriefs, and a group photo before heading back to Fire HQ. Thanks to Glen and Daz for an array of photos👍.
