What an incredible spectacle in this inaugural meeting between the NRL Wheelchair Military Team and UKAF. The NRL edged a 48–46 victory in the dying seconds with a penalty conversion to seal the win.

UKAF came out strong and took a solid lead into half‑time, but the intensity of the tour showed as the NRL fought back to sn**ch the result with the final kick of the game.

Despite the scoreline, this tour is a remarkable success. The team travelled halfway around the world during challenging circumstances, competed with pride, and represented the UKAF community with positivity and passion. We hope this experience helps build a legacy that lasts

On Tuesday 14 April, Easingwold Lions organised a visit to the Holgate Windmill in York. Lions from Easingwold, Minster Lions Club of York and Thirsk and Northallerton met at 10am; they were shown around the mill, discovering its history and how they continue to mill the flour today.

When they arrived it was a still day, but halfway through the wind got up and the sails started to go round. Following the tour, the Lions went for refreshments at the Bluebird Cafe. The day was concluded by a visit to the Wetherby Whaler for a fish and chip lunch.

🦁Lions Environment Service Week Day 3
🌍 5 Quick Ways To Save Energy & Help the Planet 🌱

💚Making a difference doesn’t require big changes—small, consistent actions across our communities can have a powerful impact. Here are five simple ways we can all contribute:

1️⃣ Switch It Off
Turn off lights, TVs, and devices when not in use—and unplug where possible to prevent wasted energy.

2️⃣ Wash Smart
Choose cold cycles and full loads to save both water and energy.

3️⃣ Ditch Single-Use
Reusable bottles, cups, and bags help reduce waste and energy consumption.

4️⃣ Shorter Showers
Saving just a few minutes each day adds up to significant energy savings.

5️⃣ Eat a Little Greener
Incorporating plant-based meals supports a lower carbon footprint.

💡 Together, small actions create meaningful change. Let’s lead by example and inspire others to do the same.
