🏆🌈 York Pride has been nominated for a Visit York Tourism Award 2026! 🌈🏆

This one feels really special. York Pride is about bringing people together, celebrating our LGBTQ+ community and making sure everyone feels they belong in our city.

Every year, we see people come together from all walks of life to celebrate, support one another and show what makes York such a welcoming place. Behind it all is a huge amount of hard work from our volunteers, organisers, supporters, partners and the wider community, and we’re incredibly proud of what we create together. ❤️

To be recognised in the Event, Festival or Cultural Experience of the Year category is a lovely reminder of how much Pride means to so many people.

A massive thank you to everyone who has been part of York Pride, whether you’ve volunteered, taken part, supported us, marched with us or simply come along to celebrate. You help make Pride what it is. 🏳️‍🌈

Here’s to continuing to make York a city where everyone can be themselves, feel welcome and celebrate who they are. 💖

💔 Remembering DJ Marky Mark (Mark Childs) 💔

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Marky Mark, who was a much-loved part of York Pride for many years.

A familiar face and a staple of our celebrations, Marky Mark hosted our event for many years bringing the energy & joy to our event year after year. 🎶🌈

His contribution to York Pride over the years will always be remembered, and he will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Our thoughts and love are with Mark’s family, friends and everyone who knew him at this incredibly sad time.

Thank you for the music, the memories and for being part of the York Pride family. ❤️

Rest in peace, Marky Mark. 🌈🕊️
