Tonight we remember the courage and sacrifice of the crews of Operation Chastise. On the night of 16th May 1943, 19 Lancaster bombers took off on one of the most daring and dangerous missions of the Second World War. Eight aircraft failed to return, and 53 of the 133 aircrew lost their lives.
The bravery, skill and sacrifice of those young airmen can never be questioned. Many were little older than boys, yet they flew into extraordinary danger knowing the risks they faced.

Today, we remember them with respect, gratitude and humility.

*An Installation Milestone*

A fantastic Installation meeting today for Invictus, after being founded in 2018 today saw our first Master who joined Freemasonry in our Lodge. One of our first Entered Apprentices is now our Master!

A real milestone moment for everyone in Invictus Lodge, from those senior Freemasons who have mentored and guided the Lodge to this point over it's first 8 years, to the newest Brothers seeing how far they can go should they wish to.

Invictus Chapter No. 9960 is celebrating its first anniversary today, marking a very special milestone for what is still a young Chapter, but one that has already achieved a great deal in its first year. Yesterday, 21/03/26, saw its Installation meeting. Special congratulations to Andy Hinchcliff (J) on attaining the Third Principal’s Chair for the first time, and to Ade Hanraham (H) and Nick Mitchell (Z) on taking their respective chairs. A proud moment for each of them personally, and another important step in the continuing development of the Chapter. We were also very pleased to welcome E.Comp Phillip Gallagher ProvGScN, attending as the representative of the 2nd Principal Grand Principal, Officer in Charge, together with his Director of Ceremonies, E.Comp Anthony Cadle. For a Chapter only one year old, Invictus continues to go from strength to strength. There is clearly a great spirit within it, and yesterday’s meeting reflected that in full. We look forward to welcoming more members during the next 12 months. Here’s to its continued success in the years ahead.

Thank you very much to Concord Lodge 9553 for carrying out a superb 2nd Degree Ceremony for two of our members. What a fantastic evening and a memorable occasion for all concerned.

Lodges working together at their very best

On Friday 20th February, brethren of Concord Lodge were delighted to support Invictus Lodge at a superbly attended family evening filled with pride and celebration.

It was a special night for the Rooney family, as Graham Rooney and Neil Rooney Jnr were both Passed to the Second Degree. Adding to the occasion, the ceremony featured Neil Rooney, father to Neil Jnr and brother to Graham, playing an active role, making it a truly memorable family milestone in Freemasonry.

Great FUN and FUND raising at our joint Invictus-Concord Lodge Valentine's Black Tie last night at Castlegate House. Brilliantly planned and run by Neil and Sue Rooney, everyone had a great time - a few sore heads this morning no doubt. We raised, £1000, raffle £320 and the auction £680.
