We're looking for a new Trust Secretary.

It's one of the most important roles in the Trust: keeping the Board organised, convening our AGM, and making sure the Trust is run properly on behalf of members. Voluntary, with a full handover from Paul.

You don't need to have done it before, and you don't need to be a lawyer or an accountant — just organised, reliable and keen to help York City fans have a real voice.

We are delighted to announce that the Trust Board has voted unanimously to co-opt our Trust Secretary, Paul Sankey, onto the Trust Board and to appoint him Vice Chair.

Seth Sowerby, Chair: "Paul has been an outstanding Trust Secretary. He took on the work that rarely gets noticed but absolutely has to be done properly, and he has modernised how the Trust governs itself in the process. I have no doubt at all that he will be a great Vice Chair."

As Paul joins as a co-opted member, he will stand for election by members at our AGM this autumn.

It also means we are now looking for a new Trust Secretary. You don't need to have done it before, and you don't need to be a lawyer or an accountant — just organised, reliable and keen to help. Full support and a proper handover provided, with Paul still around to help.

Our Supporter Raffle winners have been drawn.

First prize – Gordon Gunn, who wins a pre-match meal with Julie-Anne and Matt Uggla in the Directors Lounge at the LNER, along with match tickets for a League Two fixture.

Second prize – Ben McCluskey, who wins a framed team photo of the 2026/27 Men's First Team squad.

Third prize – Michael Hugill, who wins a signed Men's First Team 2026/27 shirt.

All three winners will be contacted directly by email over the coming days to arrange their prizes.

Our thanks go to Julie-Anne Uggla, who generously donated all three — and to everyone who entered. Every ticket sold helped pay for a week of preparation that we hope repays itself several times over between now and May.

Introducing the YCST Governance Report

Today we're launching something new for Trust members.

In May the Club adopted new Articles of Association, and in June a new All Shareholders Agreement was signed. Between them, those documents set out what the Trust is entitled to, what the Club has committed to, and what every shareholder has agreed to do.

Our shareholding has changed as well – we now hold 5% of York City Football Club. But our protections don't depend on the size of our holding. They attach to our A Ordinary Shares and to the Trust by name in the Articles, and they came through those changes intact. We still appoint directors to the Club board. A board meeting still isn't quorate without them. The name, the badge, the home shirt colours and the stadium still can't be changed without our written consent.

Rights on paper are only worth what they're worth in practice, though. So rather than ask you to take our word for it, we're going to show you.

The Governance Report covers 18 areas across seven sections, each tied to a specific clause of the Articles or the Agreement. Every area gets a traffic light – green, amber or red. Where it's amber or red, we explain why and what we've asked for. It's updated every month, and previous months stay available so you can see how things move.

We report on ourselves on the same basis. The Trust's own governance is one of the seven sections.

It's a members' report, because as a shareholder we see confidential information about the Club and reporting frankly to the people we represent is a different thing from broadcasting to the world.

If you want to know what's really going on at your football club – assessed against the actual documents rather than through rumour – this is the best reason we can give you to be a member.
