Joseph Rowntree Theatre Company summer production opens 8 Jul. The world of high-stakes gamblers, underground craps games and unlikely romance.

Sky Masterson is the smoothest gambler in town. Sarah Brown runs the Save-a-Soul Mission. A bet brings them together. Love keeps them there.

With songs like 'Luck Be a Lady', 'Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat' and 'A Bushel and a Peck', this is Broadway at its best. Often described as the perfect musical comedy.

JRTC have been rehearsing since spring. 1950s New York is coming to York.

Final call for Joseph Rowntree Theatre Presents director pitches.

Deadline is next Saturday 31 May at midnight.

We're looking for directors for three shows in 2027. Plays, small-scale musicals or original work. Productions that are creative, achievable and will raise funds for the theatre.

Three available slots:
14-20 Mar 2027
29 Jun - 3 Jul 2027
12-18 Sep 2027

You don't need extensive directing experience. You need creative vision, leadership skills and the ability to deliver quality theatre on a budget.

Your pitch should be 1-2 pages covering your show choice, casting approach, budget ideas, audience appeal and production team.
