Great turn out at our Allotment Social this evening. We were treated to a sunny evening, the rain held off and it was lovely to see both new and familiar faces. New connections and hints and tips, over a glass and a cuppa. Thanks for joining, see you all again soon!

A reminder about our May 17 plot holders get together at 5pm this Sunday at the Cabin on Glen Allotments. Everyone is welcome, including any family or friends you have staying with you. Bring along a drink of your choice… something soft, beer or wine - and of course we can put the kettle on in the cabin ☺️. We’ll provide some nibbles, (but do feel free to bring your own too) - all you need to do is provide the chat. Looking forward to meeting some new faces and swapping tips and any excess seedlings you may have too.🫛🍆🥕🫑🍅 . See you there!

Thanks to task forcers this morning, Shaun, Tim, Amy & Susie for a great hour’s work. Cleaned out the loo, started to neaten the cycle parking area and made inroads into shovelling the contents of the right hand bedding bay (free to all) back into the bay - see before and after shots. Probably another hour’s shovelling to do to finish the job!

Great to see another delivery of woodchips down at the site today. Had a few spare mins so continued refreshing the cover down one of our paths. This 15 metres took just 6 barrows. If anyone can help me finish it off that would be really kind.

Hugely grateful to the fantastic team from GoodGym York who came to our Allotments on Monday, the coldest night of the year so far! They worked like troopers spreading woodchips, sorting out hedging materials and litter picking. Brilliant work and such a chatty group full of laughter, despite the chill - thanks to you all and still can’t believe some were wearing shorts!
