This may not look much, but these modified paving slabs will make such a big difference to anyone in a wheelchair wanting to get into the Sports Hall. All done by a member of the Tuesday Group of volunteers, on a Friday. Thanks Ian.

COPMANTHORPE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN REFERENDUM

The Neighbourhood Plan specifically provides that applications for sports and leisure development will be supported and also provides that s106 monies and infrastructure levy shall be held for the benefit of Copmanthorpe and not used outside the village.

The vote is on Thursday from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm at the Parish Church.

Congratulations to 'The Copmanthorpe Sports Club', the business that leases the clubhouse, sports hall and changing rooms from the charity 'Copmanthorpe & District Recreation Centre'. Please consider giving them your vote.

60 tons of sand being spread across the 2 football pitches today.

Each year we employ Sports Turf Services to help maintain the surface of the sports field. They apply fertilizer 3 times a year, overseed the football pitches after their season ends and vertidrain and shockwave the field up to 4 times a year to help with the drainage and to encourage deeper root growth for the grass. This costs around £5000 a year.

In addition we are planning to add sand across both pitches each year which will cost over £2000 per year.

In the last 12 months we have installed additional drainage to both pitches which has cost over £6000.

The trustees of the Recreation Centre Charity are doing their best to ensure that the field is in the best state it can be throughout the year.

The Rec - Copmanthorpe

Monday 8/9/25 and Tuesday 9/9/25, there will be works being carried out on the field, this will mean that some car park spaces will be cordoned off, both days. This is to allow safe working and temporary storage of materials.

Please drive and park safely.
