This weeks task was a huge team effort! ✨

Over 5 days in West Bank Park we dug out 4 old and dead box hedges and replaced them with some lovely chestnut paling. It was a week of learning about fencing techniques from our Project Officer Benedict, and everyone got stuck in! The old hedges were part of the terrace garden area and the new fences will help keep the park uses safe and we also think they look great too.

Thank you so much to our volunteers for getting stuck in and helping us complete this massive task! 💪

If you want to get involved do drop us an email to [email protected] and we'll let you know how to sign up. 😀

The end of summer means we've be doing a lot of meadow work recently!
🌞
We've been visiting a number of our City Of York Council sites, cutting back the vegetation and raking away the cuttings, which helps to keep the meadows more floristically diverse!
🌾
We have lots of tasks coming up, so get in touch if you'd like to get involved!

Project officers Laura and Benedict spent last week dredging ponds in Barlby.

This was done to open up areas of the ponds and reduce sedimentation.
