Bucklers Mead WI The original Bucklers Mead WI was formed at a meeting held at Bucklers Mead School on the 7th January 1969. We are still going strong and now meet at St.

Mark's Church, 64 Chelston Avenue on the 2nd Wednesday in every month starting at 7.30pm.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 8th April at 7.30pm, doors open 7pm. Our speaker will be Heather Eggins telling us of "The History of Belly Dancing". Tea/coffee and cake offered as usual. Why not come and join us and see what we can offer.

Our next coffee morning is on Saturday 25th April from 10am until 12 noon. Cake stall, craft, books and jigsaws for sale, or just come and have a coffee and a slice of cake.

Well Saturday was an interesting day. Off we went to the Bath and West showground for Somerset's annual meeting. The morning was littered with problems, a speaker stuck in traffic, a video presentation that didn't work, cue a shout "we need a man" (oh dear, oh dear). The chef who appeared out of the kitchen to help, he did get it working but by then it was too late to save the presentation. An early lunchbreak with no food ready. Presentations that we couldn't see because they didn't stand on the stage. It was all hugely entertaining! The afternoon went pretty smoothly with good speakers. I think Somerset can do a lot better, I wonder what our National chairman Jeryl Stone thought!

Tomorrow evening is our Harvest Supper. Home made soup. homemade bread, tasty desserts with autumn fruits. All served with a smile for our lovely members. What's not to love!
If anyone would like to come and checkout our future get togethers, we meet at St. Mark's Methodist church in Chelston Avenue, Yeovil on the 2nd Wednesday in each month at 7.30pm

A really interesting talk yesterday by Andrew Prince, who created all the jewellery for Downton Abbey. He was a wonderful speaker who knew his subject inside out. We weren't quite so impressed with the lunch, bare tables and queuing up clutching a plate was a little too much like school dinners!

A really busy coffee morning on Saturday 11th. Lots of coffee was drunk and lots of cake eaten. Thanks to all our helpers and our customers, it was a fun and profitable morning!

Our March meeting will be this Wednesday, 13th March starting at 7.30pm. Our speaker is Wendy Bond who will tell us of the work done by the Foyer Club. There will be cake - there is always cake - and a friendly welcome to all. Come and try us out, you will be made very welcome!

Our next meeting is on Wednesday February 14th at 7.30pm in St. Mark's Methodist church in Chelston Avenue. Our speaker is Gill Oliver "The Case for Optimism". All visitors welcome, and if you would like to join our WI all the better!! We have cake as well!
