We would like to address an article within the Yate & Sodbury Gazette published on 15th October 2026 where the Armadillo is mentioned in connection with an alleged crime.

We can confirm the Armadillo was closed on 2 January 2023 (Bank Holiday Monday). There were no staff or members of the public in the building and no incidents occurred inside
the venue on that date.

Knife crime occurring anywhere is a concern to the Town Council and we would want to be helpful in tackling knife crime wherever it occurs, but this alleged incident did not occur within Town Council property and was, in no way, connected to the Armadillo.
