♿ Bristol Blue Badge parking survey, closes on 21 July!

Bristol Council want to make sure the needs of people with Blue Badges are considered as part of their current and future transport projects.

They have an online Easy Read version of the survey that you can complete which can be found here https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/BlueBadgeEasyRead/

There is a PDF of the Easy Read survey which you can return via email to [email protected], or by requesting a freepost envelope through the email or calling 0117 903 6449.

This survey is a partnership initiative of Bristol City Council and the Disabled People’s Strategic Transport Advisory Group, which is an independent group set up to advise Bristol City Council’s Transport and Connectivity Committee.

We are interested in your views on using your Blue Badge to park in Bristol, to help inform transport policy and processes. All responses to this survey will be anonymous.

At the end of the anonymous survey, you will be given an option to apply to be part of a consultation group, which helps advise the council on Disabled people’s experience of driving and parking. This section will not be anonymous but will not be linked to the previous section.

👏New travel planning platform launches next month.

Able2Book is a new disabled led platform designed to make planning accessible days out easier.

It brings together clear, practical information about tourist attractions and allows you to filter by accessible features so disabled people and companions can make informed decisions before visiting.

You can also find out which evidence is accepted for essential companion tickets, and book tickets online. The platform launches June 2026.

People's Voice are holding a 'Speak Up' event for people with learning disabilities and neurodivergence in South Gloucestershire.

📆Wednesday 27th May
⏰11.00am – 1.00pm
📍The Armadillo in Yate, Station Road, BS37 4FW.

It will be a free session with the aim to help people get more involved, share their views on local issues, and shape our future campaigns. It will be a small, relaxed session.

There is no need to sign up. You can drop in and stay for as long as you want.

🎉 We’re excited to announce that our new Community Café will officially open on Tuesday 2nd June! ☕

Based at Paul’s Place Hub on Shire Way, Yate, the café has been created as a warm and inclusive space where people can come together to enjoy great coffee, homemade cakes and friendly conversation, while supporting disabled adults to gain hands-on experience in catering and hospitality, build confidence, develop new skills and connect with the community.

Overcoming your barriers to self-care when you care for others

**Reminder** Filton & Bradley Stoke 'Your Voice' event on Thursday 26th March, 18:30 – 20:30 at Baileys Court Activity Centre, Bradley Stoke.

🗣Your voice... is our new series of community meetings. They create an informal space for conversations between communities, the council, and other key partners such as town and parish councils, Avon Fire and Rescue Service, Avon and Somerset Police and local voluntary and community groups.

The meetings are approximately 2 hours long, and organised into 3 sessions. You can attend all 3 sessions, or just the parts that are of most interest to you.

👉Marketplace (open for the whole meeting) - visit information stands to talk to council teams and other partners or voluntary organisations.
👉Community Talks (45 minutes) - presentations from a council team or partner organisation to share and discuss information about local issues, including an Open 👉Forum for any questions.
Roundtable discussions (45 minutes) - a workshop to discuss a local challenge and propose joint solutions.

You do not need to book to attend the meeting - just drop in! But if you do register for a free ticket, you will receive a helpful reminder email 2 days before the event.
