Congratulations to the three brownies who were awarded their Gold awards last night (presented to them in a gold keepsake box)👏🏻🎉

One brownie made laminated promise cards to help new brownies learn the promise. Another brownie put her sewing skills to the test to make an outfit for our brownie bear (made using some of her old uniform). And the third brownie did a fabulous job of running an activity and demonstrating how it worked (Fizzy flying - one of our unit activities from the green Have Adventures theme)

It’s been another fun filled term at brownies. There’s been lots of fun activities and crafts, a cinema trip, and learning first aid (including a visit from a local paramedic who brought along their ambulance).
We’ve also managed to get outside for outdoor cooking, obstacle courses and even water play (where the leaders got soaked!).
And not forgetting our Hawaiian themed summer sleepover, complete with mini campfire, camp songs and s’mores!

Today the brownies went to Adventure Bristol at Ashton Court to take part in an Adventure Day. A fun filled day full of den building, toasting marshmallows, team building activities, and the treetops adventure course (where Tawny Owl also joined in!) We even found time afterwards for an ice pop!

The Brownies have had a fun and busy couple of weeks so far this term:
• Last week the brownies made sock puppets, and in small groups they came up with, rehearsed and put on a puppet show (many of the brownies earned their Performing interest badge).
• This week the brownies learned about DNA and what makes us who we are, and also made some Edible DNA 🧬 using sweets (an adaptation of one of the activities from the Reflect Stage 3 Skills Builder badge).
We’re also working towards our own challenge badge (created by one of our brownies for her Gold award)

Tonight we had the pleasure of presenting Gold awards to six of our brownies, who were each presented with a gold box containing their certificate and badges 🌟 A huge well done to all.

This term our brownies have been having lots of fun creating wonderful paintings, taken part in themed scavenger hunts and even turned themselves into human fireworks using glow sticks!
