Our crews have been busy tackling a number of outdoor fires in the last couple of days, and you can see the damage caused by one in Sprowston earlier today.

The best way you can help us to deal with these is by calling 999 and getting somewhere safe if you see a fire. But there are a couple of extra things that could make a big difference:

📍 Download the What3Words app to your phone in advance (why not now?), which will give you a three-word code for an exact 3m x 3m location when you log in to the app. Quoting this three-word code back to our control room enables us to find locate where you are, which is particularly useful in remote or wooded areas.

📱 Our control room uses GoodSAM technology, which allows you to instantly video live stream to them. They can share this with our crews, which allows them to see exactly what a fire looks like and what tactics to use to tackle it before they arrive, and could help us with our investigation into how the fire started too.
