Family Friends Here at Family friends we help you make connections with others and build resilience so you can create a life you love.

we offer 1 to 1 support in the home, counselling and EMDR and a variety of group based wellbeing sessions for adults and children. Family Friends offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with children, in our local community. Family Friends offers a unique service, recruiting and training volunteers who are usually parents themselves- to visit families at home from pregnancy to any child before their 15th birthday to offer informal, friendly and confidential support. Through a network of trained and enhanced DBS checked volunteers who are parents or have relevant experience, we support hundreds of parents and children who are experiencing difficulties of one kind or another. Our families need support for many reasons including social isolation, post-natal depression, disability, bereavement or the illness of a parent or child. Every Child and Family matter and our support is tailored to the individual and family.

We have been supporting families with one-to-one and group sessions for over twenty five years. Weโ€™re looking for kind and caring people to join our amazing volunteer team.

From October our Midweek Marvels play session will be moving to Goodtime Charlieโ€™s Play Centre to support diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergent children and their families.

The fortnightly sessions help parents to meet others facing the same challenges and children to form friendships and a sense of belonging without fear of judgement.

Weโ€™re delighted to announce that our new and improved Midweek Marvels is coming to Goodtime Charlieโ€™s Play Centre from October. Running on Wednesdays from 4-6pm.

Midweek Marvels is a non-judgemental and welcoming group for diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergent children, their parents and siblings. Parents can meet others facing similar challenges, reducing isolation or fear of judgement, while children have the opportunity to form friendships and feel a sense of belonging.

Our Wellbeing Group has some lovely activities planned for the autumn. From Reiki, Art Therapy and Mindfulness, to that all important cuppa and a chat, thereโ€™s something for everyone to enjoy.

Itโ€™s a warm and welcoming group where people can relax, meet others and try something new. Whether youโ€™re looking to build confidence or simply enjoy some friendly company, youโ€™ll find plenty of support and a sense of belonging.

What a wonderful summer we have had in the great outdoors in some of the wonderful local parks and green spaces around us. Weโ€™ve learnt how to build dens in Ty Mawr, had a scavenger hunt looking for different bugs ๐Ÿž and plants in Belle Vue Park, painted butterfly houses ๐Ÿฆ‹in Alyn Waters and played in Wolfโ€™s Den in Erddig.

Weโ€™re sad to see summer go, but our allotment will keep us busy over the autumn. ๐Ÿ‚

Our Wellbeing Group enjoyed a lovely visit to our allotment today. ๐ŸŒฑ

Fresh air, a little exercise, and time outdoors are always good for the mind and body. It was wonderful to get outside, enjoy the surroundings and spend some time together ๐Ÿ’š.

Weโ€™re looking forward to seeing how the allotment continues to grow. ๐ŸŒป

This Saturday is our monthly Menโ€™s Group meeting here at The Salvation Army building in Rhosddu.

Those who come along have grown in confidence just by being part of a group that chats, laughs, understands and comes together. Thereโ€™s also breakfast.
