We need you!

We're looking for more volunteers to support us at events later in the year.

Full training will be provided, and you don't need to have supported us before.

We're looking forward to hearing from anyone who is interested, and of course welcome interest from autistic people in Wrexham.

To let us know that you are interested in volunteering, please email us and include the word Volunteer in the subject line.

Some of our volunteers will be speaking at Connect Wrexham this week, telling more local businesses about our branch, the need for support for autistic people in Wrexham, and how they can get involved.

Connect Wrexham brings together businesses from all over the county, to connect and learn from each other.

We can't wait to speak more about the Wrexham Branch NAS, provide information on inclusion, answer questions from the businesses attending, and hopefully start building some great partnerships.

Please remember this is a ticketed event for a dedicated NAS session starting at 6:30pm.

Before that, there will be other sessions on at the venue for the public or other groups, so please don't arrive too early.

Born and bred right here in Wrexham, Angie is passionate about our hometown.

With first-hand experience of the diagnosis pathway, facilities and support currently available for autistic children and parent carers locally, Angie is a great addition to our branch and offers loads of support for events, plans and ideas.

Next Screening: 10am, Sunday 30th August

ODEON Cinemas Eagles Meadow offer an Autism Friendly film screening monthly, usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month. The August film is Moana.

Odeon tell us that for Autism Friendly screenings they:
- Keep the house lights on throughout the film
- Lower the audio volume
- Remove the advertisements and trailers before the film
- Open the cinema doors early so guests have time to get used to the surroundings

They also say they choose family films accessible for all.

NEXT EVENT: August Inclusive Swim

We're happy to announce that our next Inclusive Swim is coming up next week! Tickets will be released tomorrow, so keep an eye on your inbox.

This event is for Autistic individuals of all ages, who are registered with us, and their families.

Tickets are limited to make sure it's a great experience for all, so if you get a ticket but can't make it, please let us know.

Ticket details:
🏊Tickets available for Autistic individuals, registered with Wrexham Branch NAS
🏊Registered individuals will receive an invitation on the evening of Friday 19th June, to book their place for the session via Eventbrite
🏊Tickets are £1 each
🏊Maximum of 4 tickets per transaction/family - please email us if you need more for your group
🏊Plas Madoc pool rules apply to this swim session
