The Community Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Angela Cunningham (Angie) as Ruabon Community Agent. Angie will begin her new role with the Community Council on 1 September 2026, bringing a positive and supportive approach to helping residents across the community. She can be contacted by telephone on 07947 530 140, and from 1 September her new email address will be [email protected]. While the role will differ slightly from the previous arrangement provided by the local authority, Angie will continue to play an important part in developing groups and signposting residents aged 55 and over to the services and support available to them.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi penodiad Mrs Angela Cunningham (Angie) fel Asiant Cymunedol Rhiwabon. Bydd Angie yn dechrau ei rôl newydd gyda'r Cyngor Cymuned ar 1 Medi 2026, gan ddod ag ymagwedd gadarnhaol a chefnogol at helpu trigolion ledled y gymuned. Er y bydd y rôl ychydig yn wahanol i'r trefniant blaenorol a ddarparwyd gan yr awdurdod lleol, bydd Angie yn parhau i chwarae rhan bwysig wrth ddatblygu grwpiau a chyfeirio trigolion 55 oed a throsodd at y gwasanaethau a'r cymorth sydd ar gael iddynt.

Alongside a number of other Community Councils, Ruabon learned that the Community Agent Scheme operated by Wrexham County Borough Council would be ending and undergoing major changes.

Rather than step back, Ruabon Community Council has chosen to step forward. Demonstrating a strong commitment to the wellbeing of older residents, the Council has made the exciting and positive decision to establish its own dedicated Community Agent role for Ruabon — ensuring vital support, guidance, and connection remain at the heart of the community.

Ochr yn ochr â nifer o Gynghorau Cymuned eraill, dysgodd Rhiwabon y byddai'r Cynllun Asiantau Cymunedol a weithredir gan Gyngor Bwrdeistref Sirol Wrecsam yn dod i ben ac yn cael newidiadau mawr.

Yn hytrach na chamu'n ôl, mae Cyngor Cymuned Rhiwabon wedi dewis camu ymlaen. Gan ddangos ymrwymiad cryf i les trigolion hŷn, mae'r Cyngor wedi gwneud y penderfyniad cyffrous a chadarnhaol i sefydlu ei rôl Asiant Cymunedol pwrpasol ei hun ar gyfer Rhiwabon — gan sicrhau bod cefnogaeth, arweiniad a chysylltiad hanfodol yn parhau i fod wrth galon y gymuned.

The Community Council is delighted to report the success of its recent bike marking event, which was very well attended by members of the local community. The initiative provided a valuable opportunity for residents to protect their bicycles while coming together in a friendly and welcoming environment.

The event was proudly supported by the Mayor, whose presence highlighted the importance of community safety and engagement. The Mayor was joined by members of the Community Council and PSCO Sarah Clark-Lewis, all of whom played an active role in ensuring the day ran smoothly.

The Community Council extends its sincere thanks to the Mayor for his continued enthusiasm and support of village events. His involvement helps strengthen community spirit and encourages participation in local initiatives.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, demonstrating the community’s strong commitment to safety, cooperation, and neighbourhood pride.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn falch iawn o adrodd am lwyddiant ei ddigwyddiad marcio beiciau diweddar, a fynychwyd yn dda iawn gan aelodau o'r gymuned leol. Roedd y fenter yn gyfle gwerthfawr i drigolion amddiffyn eu beiciau wrth ddod at ei gilydd mewn amgylchedd cyfeillgar a chroesawgar.

Cefnogwyd y digwyddiad yn falch gan y Maer, y mae ei bresenoldeb yn tynnu sylw at bwysigrwydd diogelwch ac ymgysylltu cymunedol. Ymunodd aelodau o'r Cyngor Cymuned a PSCO Sarah Clark-Lewis â'r Maer, a chwaraeodd bob un ohonynt ran weithredol yn sicrhau bod y diwrnod yn rhedeg yn esmwyth.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn estyn ei ddiolch diffuant i'r Maer am ei frwdfrydedd parhaus a'i gefnogaeth i ddigwyddiadau pentref. Mae ei gyfranogiad yn helpu i gryfhau ysbryd cymunedol ac yn annog cyfranogiad mewn mentrau lleol.

Ar y cyfan, roedd y digwyddiad yn llwyddiant ysgubol, gan ddangos ymrwymiad cryf y gymuned i ddiogelwch, cydweithrediad a balchder cymdogaeth.

His Worship the Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor Jeremy Kent, officially opened the new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) on behalf of Ruabon Community Council on 23rd May 2026, marking a proud and significant moment for the local community.

The event was attended by members of the Council, including Councillor Elise Jackson, whose dedication was instrumental in securing funding for the project through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. This vital support has enabled the long-awaited transformation of the site into a modern, accessible recreational facility for residents of all ages.

The opening represents the culmination of over a decade of determined effort by Ruabon Community Council to bring this vision to life. It stands as a testament to the Council’s commitment to enhancing local amenities and investing in the wellbeing of the community.

Councillors expressed their delight at seeing the project come to fruition and are already looking ahead to further improvements. Building on this success, the Council is continuing its work through Pride in Place funding, ensuring that the momentum of positive change and community development in Ruabon carries on.

This is truly a good news story for Ruabon—one that reflects perseverance, partnership, and pride in the local area.

Official Opening of the Ruabon Multi
Use Games Area (MUGA)
The Council is pleased to announce the official opening of the
Ruabon Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), which will be carried
out by the Mayor of Wrexham on Saturday 23rd May 2026 at
1pm. This is a positive milestone for the community, and the
Council would like to recognise the hard work and commitment
of Ruabon Community Council in conjunction with the Shared
Prosperity Fund and Wrexham County Borough Council in
helping bring this valuable facility to fruition.

The Community Council is delighted to announce that the consultation period for the Pride in Place Funding has been extended until 29th April 2026, giving everyone more time to get involved and share their views.

In addition, the Community Agent, together with several organisations, will be hosting ‘News and Brews’ events at St. Michael’s Close and the Village Hall, providing wonderful opportunities for residents to connect and stay informed.
