The Community Council is delighted to report the success of its recent bike marking event, which was very well attended by members of the local community. The initiative provided a valuable opportunity for residents to protect their bicycles while coming together in a friendly and welcoming environment.

The event was proudly supported by the Mayor, whose presence highlighted the importance of community safety and engagement. The Mayor was joined by members of the Community Council and PSCO Sarah Clark-Lewis, all of whom played an active role in ensuring the day ran smoothly.

The Community Council extends its sincere thanks to the Mayor for his continued enthusiasm and support of village events. His involvement helps strengthen community spirit and encourages participation in local initiatives.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, demonstrating the community’s strong commitment to safety, cooperation, and neighbourhood pride.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn falch iawn o adrodd am lwyddiant ei ddigwyddiad marcio beiciau diweddar, a fynychwyd yn dda iawn gan aelodau o'r gymuned leol. Roedd y fenter yn gyfle gwerthfawr i drigolion amddiffyn eu beiciau wrth ddod at ei gilydd mewn amgylchedd cyfeillgar a chroesawgar.

His Worship the Mayor of Wrexham, Councillor Jeremy Kent, officially opened the new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) on behalf of Ruabon Community Council on 23rd May 2026, marking a proud and significant moment for the local community.

The event was attended by members of the Council, including Councillor Elise Jackson, whose dedication was instrumental in securing funding for the project through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. This vital support has enabled the long-awaited transformation of the site into a modern, accessible recreational facility for residents of all ages.

The opening represents the culmination of over a decade of determined effort by Ruabon Community Council to bring this vision to life. It stands as a testament to the Council’s commitment to enhancing local amenities and investing in the wellbeing of the community.

Councillors expressed their delight at seeing the project come to fruition and are already looking ahead to further improvements. Building on this success, the Council is continuing its work through Pride in Place funding, ensuring that the momentum of positive change and community development in Ruabon carries on.

This is truly a good news story for Ruabon—one that reflects perseverance, partnership, and pride in the local area.

Official Opening of the Ruabon Multi
Use Games Area (MUGA)
The Council is pleased to announce the official opening of the
Ruabon Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), which will be carried
out by the Mayor of Wrexham on Saturday 23rd May 2026 at
1pm. This is a positive milestone for the community, and the
Council would like to recognise the hard work and commitment
of Ruabon Community Council in conjunction with the Shared
Prosperity Fund and Wrexham County Borough Council in
helping bring this valuable facility to fruition.

The Community Council is delighted to announce that the consultation period for the Pride in Place Funding has been extended until 29th April 2026, giving everyone more time to get involved and share their views.

In addition, the Community Agent, together with several organisations, will be hosting ‘News and Brews’ events at St. Michael’s Close and the Village Hall, providing wonderful opportunities for residents to connect and stay informed.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi bod y cyfnod ymgynghori ar gyfer y Cyllid Balchder yn Lle wedi'i ymestyn tan 29 Ebrill 2026, gan roi mwy o amser i bawb gymryd rhan a rhannu eu barn.

On Friday, 11th April 2026, Community Council Staff, whilst gathering litter from the recreation ground, entered the newly constructed MUGA to clear away rubbish.

The Community Council is devastated to report the deeply distressing act of arson that has severely damaged the playing surface within one of the goals. Given the tireless efforts and significant investment made to bring the MUGA to life for the benefit of all, the discovery of such senseless destruction has left us profoundly saddened. We are currently reviewing CCTV footage in hopes of identifying those responsible for this heartbreaking incident.

The Community Council has dedicated itself over a long period to ensuring the MUGA would be a facility truly fit for purpose, offering a space for activity to all members of our community at a cost of more than £54,000. It is deeply disheartening and extremely upsetting to realise that, despite these efforts, a small minority would inflict such harm upon a resource meant to enrich the lives of everyone in the village.

Ar ddydd Gwener, 11 Ebrill 2026, aeth Staff y Cyngor Cymuned, wrth gasglu sbwriel o'r maes hamdden, i mewn i'r MUGA newydd i glirio sbwriel.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned yn ddigalon i adrodd am y weithred hynod ofidus o losgi bwriadol sydd wedi difrodi'n ddifrifol yr arwyneb chwarae o fewn un o'r nodau. O ystyried yr ymdrechion diflino a'r buddsoddiad sylweddol a wnaed i ddod â'r MUGA yn fyw er budd pawb, mae darganfod dinistr mor ddisynnwyr wedi ein gadael yn drist iawn. Ar hyn o bryd rydym yn adolygu lluniau teledu cylch cyfyng yn y gobaith o nodi'r rhai sy'n gyfrifol am y digwyddiad torcalonnus hwn.

Mae'r Cyngor Cymuned wedi ymroi dros gyfnod hir i sicrhau y byddai'r MUGA yn gyfleuster gwirioneddol addas i'r diben, gan gynnig lle ar gyfer gweithgareddau i holl aelodau ein cymuned ar gost o fwy na £54,000. Mae'n hynod ddigalon ac yn hynod ofidus sylweddoli, er gwaethaf yr ymdrechion hyn, y byddai lleiafrif bach yn achosi cymaint o niwed i adnodd sydd i fod i gyfoethogi bywydau pawb yn y pentref.

Pride In Place Funding Consultation

We regret to inform you that, owing to unexpected circumstances, the consultation originally scheduled for tomorrow, 11th April 2026, will have to be postponed.

The consultation will now take place on Saturday, 18th April 2026, in the Pavilion from 09:30 to 12:30. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this change, but unfortunately the circumstances are beyond our control.

Please accept the Community Council’s sincere apologies, but the MUGA will be closed today, the line markings have been completed today and need 24 hours to ensure that they dry completely. Would parents please be so kind as to ask their children not to attempt to get into the area. The Clerk will open the gates tomorrow for continued use.
