Rory’s Well is a life giving project set up in memory of our son Rory Evans, who died in a car accident, just days after his 18th birthday in December 2013. As a family, we were already supporting Alive & Well, a charity working in Sierra Leone with a mission to bring clean, safe drinking water to communities in desperate need. After Rory’s accident, we decided that we wanted to create something t

hat was life-giving and positive to celebrate his life and so we created Rory’s Well. The response to Rory’s Well has been amazing and over £25,000 has already been raised in remembrance of Rory. We have been overwhelmed by the love, kindness and generosity of the many people who have contributed and raised funds for Rory’s Well, through so many different events. This generosity has allowed us to do so much in Sierra Leone in Rory’s memory. Working through Alive & Well, we had already drilled 9 wells in 2014 before the wet season and Ebola, brought our progress to a halt. We recommenced drilling in Spring 2015 and a further 8 wells were drilled before the summer rains hit, bringing the total to 17 wells in total throughout rural Pujehun in as many months. These wells were all checked recently and are functioning well and to date,
