Women's Institute Worthing

Women's Institute Worthing The WI is about Inspiring women, it's about learning new things and making lasting friendships. We currently have 68 members. BN12 4HD.

We have a Lunch Club, Supper Club, Walking, Gardening, Craft and several book Groups. As a group we are no longer just about making jam, although some of our members have that skill. We pride ourselves on being welcoming and friendly and are growing our membership all the time. We meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at West Park Primary School, Marlborough Road Worthing. Doors open at 7.00 and the

meeting starts at 7.30. Most months we will have a speaker who starts at 8pm. Other WI groups can be found by
contacting the NFWI.

We had Alison Brown to our meeting this month. She has a cut flower business and spoke to us about how to look after your cut flowers and how to arrange them. We then made a little posy with some dried flowers she had brought with her. A very enjoyable session.

Gladioli made at Denman house today with Helen Mole of Indigo Mole. She disects real flowers to get the petal shapes and makes several trial flowers before making one good enough to teach. She is available to WIs and everyone can either make a poppy or a sprig of lavender. An excellent teacher.

At our meeting this week our new committee introduced themselves. A heartfelt thankyou to Julie our new president and Paula our new secretary and all on the committee for giving their time to keep our group running. After we all had fun playing games, some of which were from our own childhood. Who knew about grab the pigs and dog bingo!
