Hope Charity Project

Hope Charity Project HOPE Charity Project helps young people aged 10-18 and their families in worrying Mental Health and emotional well being situations.

The current mental health system is failing to adequately help and support young people and their families that are in desperate need of somewhere neutral to go, where they just want an understanding ear to listen. The Hope Charity Project has been set up to help families in Sussex & surrounding areas who are struggling to support their children suffering with mental health issues. We offer a holi

stic approach to providing advice, support and comfort to the children, parents and siblings who are all effected by this growing problem. Not only do we provide a reassuring environment for the young person in crisis, we also understand the importance of support for the family, and have designed our services for all. Our aim is not only to unite our own local community, but to bring together other groups in communities throughout the UK, building our network of families helping each other at these times when there is nowhere else to turn. If you would like a lifeline, register with us here. All the people involved in the Hope Charity Project have been touched by this terrifying and emotionally challenging issue. Having gone through extensive experiences and being on the receiving end of a currently failing system in crisis, we have taken it upon ourselves to fill a massive gap for children between the ages of 10-21 and their families who are suffering unnecessarily. Having gone through so many of the challenges ourselves, which affected all our families, carers and schools, we have a unique level of empathy and experience that could make the biggest difference in a time where everything seems bleak

πŸ’› A conversation we'd like to explore further...

At yesterdays HOPE coffee morning, a topic came up that really got us thinking.

There is a growing amount of support and information available for parents of neurodivergent children. But what about when the parent is neurodivergent too?

Many autistic and ADHD parents are navigating the same challenges as their children, whilst also trying to manage family life, school meetings, appointments, emotional wellbeing and the day-to-day demands of parenting.

For some families, difficulties with executive functioning, sensory overwhelm, anxiety, communication differences and emotional regulation can affect more than one person in the household.

We are beginning to wonder whether this is a group that is often overlooked.

Over the coming weeks, HOPE would like to learn more about the experiences of neurodivergent parents raising neurodivergent children and whether there may be a need for additional peer support within our community.

If this sounds familiar to you, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments or by private message.

Sometimes the best ideas come from listening. πŸ’›

A small but important update from HOPE Charity Project πŸ’›

Due to increasing demand, limited funding and rising operational costs, from June onwards HOPE Charity Project will, for the foreseeable future, be operating across Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.

HOPE will also now be prioritising support for low-income families, helping ensure families and young people who may otherwise be unable to access private emotional wellbeing support can continue receiving help.

This has not been an easy decision, but one we feel is necessary to protect the long-term future of the charity and continue supporting those who need us most.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support HOPE πŸ’›

Maths, Coffee & Confidence: A Pilot Session for Parents β˜•πŸ”’ to build your child's confidence
A small shift in maths can lead to a whole new vision!

If your child is in Year 5, 6, or 7, you might have noticed some gaps appearing in their maths understanding, or perhaps just a lack of confidence? Whether you are home-educating or supporting school learning, I want to help demystify some of the maths essentials.

As a KS2 teacher for over 20 years and a qualified Life Coach, I offer Maths tips and tricks with no judgement. I’m hosting a small group, of 3 informal pilot sessions to show parents how to teach and learn tricky topics in a way that sticks.
As this is a pilot, I’m looking for up to 6 parents who can ideally commit to all three sessions.

What we'll cover:
In the first of the 3 sessions, we will cover Column Subtraction and Multiplication. After that, we can look at what you specifically want to know. For instance, we can consider brackets, fractions, division, angles, areas & perimeter and percentages in future meet-ups.

The Vibe: Relaxed, supportive, and jargon-free.

The Group: Capped at 6 parents to make sure everyone gets the help they need.

Pilot Price: Β£15 per session.

Invite a Friend: Pay just Β£20 for you both, per session (Β£10 each!).

Where: A local cafe in Billingshurst (Thursday or Friday afternoon 1:30-2:30pm tbc).

Let’s grab a coffee and share the skills that will help you to help your child. It’s cheaper than a 1:1 tutorial and a dedicated hour for YOU to feel supported... what's not to like?!

Drop a comment below or send me a DM for the date, and location. Let me know your preferred day.
First-come, first-served.
