Your weekend could change someone’s life.

Did you know that we run community events? We raise vital funds that help deliver our services and raise awareness in the community. Volunteers often support these events, so if you would like to support local people experiencing homelessness, a couple of hours of your time at one of our many community events is a wonderful way to give back and meet like-minded people.

• Flexible weekend roles
• Training and support provided
• Real impact, real people

Yesterday we opened our doors of our Donation Hub and welcome local businesses, residents and volunteers to come and learn about what we do, shop our new second hand store and have a cuppa and cake.

The Donations Hub is our central point for all donations of food, furniture, household and hygiene items and provides all these things across our services. We rely on our generous community to provide quality items to ensure that nobody is left without the essentials. The Donations Hub is supported by 20 regular volunteers who drive our van, sort and pack up donations and provide admin support.

If you are interested inn volunteering or donating, please get in touch or check out the last photo with our Summer Gift Lift!

Volunteers' week is an opportunity to celebrate our brilliant volunteers. We asked some of our volunteers why they volunteer for us and what it means to them. See what Sue, our volunteer of 8 years had to say...

"I love volunteering at Turning Tides, as I feel I am helping and empowering people to turn their lives around and make a fresh start. The staff are amazingly friendly, helpful and supportive towards volunteers. Volunteers are treated as an important part of the team. I have volunteered for the past 8 years and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I have now been on training to become a Relief Project Worker at St Clare’s Hub and I am learning about the prevention of homelessness and the procedures to assist clients with housing and access to various services."

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please get in contact [email protected]

Huge congratulations to local legend Pet Portraits By Hercule (aka Phil) on winning Fundraiser of the Year at the Worthing Community Awards! 🎉

Phil has raised an incredible £500,000+ for charity, including for Turning Tides and StreetVet. From taking on extreme physical challenges to creating his brilliantly named “rubbish pet portraits”, he’s brought joy to so many while supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Turning Tides Fundraising Manager, Sarah Palmer said “Phil is a local hero, who has done so much to support local people experiencing homelessness. This award rightly reflects his support for the Worthing Community over the last six years.”

We’re so grateful for everything you’ve done, this award couldn’t be more deserved 💙
