Cat claws are more than just sharp nails! 💅

😺 They are retractable to keep them sharp

😸 Scratching is natural: It helps remove the outer claw layers, stretch muscles and exercise the body

🗨️ Scratching leaves visual and scent marks for other cats

😼 Claws help with climbing, jumping and keeping balance

🤓 Regular scratching helps maintain healthy claws, so provide suitable scratching posts or pads

💡 Top Tip: Never punish your cat for scratching your furniture and rather work on redirecting unwanted scratching!

👋Hello, I’m Felix! I’m a very handsome (and well covered!) gentleman!🐈‍⬛🐱

I’m in my retirement years at the grand age of nearly 16, however I do help my Mum, Veronica with co – editing ‘The Scratching Post’ for Worthing Cats Protection.
Worthing Cats Protection means a lot to me. I don’t like to talk about my past (my Mum doesn’t know much about my past at all, she certainly doesn’t know anything about me before I ended up living with an elderly gentleman) – But as elderly gentlemen do he died. I was very scared when the emergency services turned up and escaped. (My Mum often tells me I’m a big wimp!)

I spent a several weeks living rough close to my home, but no one could catch me. It was only due to the perseverance of several people at Cats Protection including Vicky and her son and Terry that eventually I was brought into care and looked after.
I was in poor condition and had been in a few scraps and was very scared. I was checked over at the vet’s where they also stuck vaccinations in me! But apparently I was in good health!

I was then taken to my new Mum’s house. To start with she and my new Dad didn’t see me as I hid a lot. I would hide every time anyone came to the door, especially if that person had a uniform. My Dad’s florescent work coat also made me very nervous! Mum says I have slowly got better. I’ve been here for five and a half years now and when people I know come round I do pluck up the courage to say hello. Mum has said I am very loving and gentle.
I like to help Mum with her sewing, jigsaw puzzles and making sure I’m right in the way when she’s trying to write out neutering vouchers! I love being in the garden and I have made friends with several frogs and even a hedgehog! I adore food, sleeping and sun bathing but also enjoy helping with ‘The Scratching Post.’

🤔 If you would like to keep up to date with Felix then please do consider joining Worthing Cats Protection and you will receive our quarterly magazine ‘The Scratching Post’ which Felix helps with. He would love to hear from you too.
New members can receive The Scratching Post online, or alternatively, one will be posted to you. It only cost £5 a year with all the money going to help the cats in care! 💕

😻 TEDDY & BILLY 😻
Teddy & Billy are black, long-haired, 6 month old brothers who would like to be homed together. 🖤🖤
Teddy loves to have kisses and nose rubs, whilst Billy likes to get between your feet. 😘
They are both very inquisitive boys and love playing with their toys, meaning their pen looks like a bomb site in the morning! 🐾
They are very good with a litter tray and like their food, so treats go down very well. 🥰
Teddy & Billy are looking for a family home with a garden as they will want to go outside. 🏡

Do Teddy & Billy sound like the purrrfect kitties for you?! 😻 Here's what you can do to find out more ...
