This Black History Month, we are recognising role models who inspire young people to believe in their potential and make a positive difference in the world around them.

Many will know Marcus Rashford for his achievements on the football pitch, but his influence extends well beyond sport. Through his campaigning and advocacy for children and young people, he has shown how determination and a willingness to speak up can drive meaningful change.

Marcus's journey highlights the importance of resilience, opportunity and using your platform to support others.

This Children of Foster Carers Week, we’re celebrating the children and young people who are part of fostering families.

Fostering is something the whole family experiences. From welcoming someone new into their home to sharing everyday family life, children of foster carers can play an important part in helping fostered children feel comfortable and included.

We also recognise that being part of a fostering family can bring changes and challenges, which is why it’s so important that children of foster carers feel heard, valued and supported too.

A big thank you to the children and young people in our asphaleia fostering families for everything they contribute.

Hate Crime Awareness Week is an important opportunity to recognise the impact that prejudice and discrimination can have on individuals and communities.

Understanding protected characteristics is part of this, but meaningful inclusion goes further. It is reflected in how we treat people and how we respond when someone experiences discrimination or abuse because of who they are.

Our management team recently took part in EDI training, giving us the opportunity to reflect on how we continue to build an inclusive culture across asphaleia.

Hate Crime Awareness Week is a reminder that we can all play a part in challenging prejudice and making the communities around us more inclusive.
