A new app that lets young people know about spaces they can go if they’re feeling unsafe has just been launched in Worthing.
As part of the national Safe Havens scheme, students from Davison High School have helped develop a network of welcoming spaces in Worthing to improve safety and support any young person who feels at risk.
Safe Havens are designed to be places of temporary refuge for people to stop and safely plan their onward journey. The scheme is already backed by over 40 local businesses and organisations, each with a logo in their window to show they are a safe space for young people.
The app includes:
a map of all businesses and organisations registered as Safe Havens in Worthing, including opening and closing times
an SOS button where emergency services can track a local child in distress
