2nd Durrington Sea Scout Group We are a Sea Scout Group based in Pond Lane, Nr Durrington, Worthing, West Sussex. If you have an enquiry please message.

We start at age 4 with Squirrels, age 6 with Beavers, age 8 with Cubs, age 10.5 with Scouts and age 14 with Explorers.

Changes at the Hut
Work has begun for an extension at the Hut to add an accessible wetroom and bunk room. This doesn't affect the Hut or the fire escape, but please ensure your children do not go past the barriers as there are deep trenches under the boards.

The current Chair of our Trustee Committee is stepping down in September and we are looking for someone who can take the helm from October.

Our trustees meet six times a year to discuss improvements to our HQ and make Scouting even better at 2nd Durrington.

Our fabulous Squirrels had a great day at Furzefield Scout Campsite at the weekend. Plans had to slightly change due to the fire ban, but they explored the woods, learned how to tie a reef knot, made stick men, hedgehogs and spider webs, had a picnic lunch, made dens and generally had a lot of fun!

The Scout Troop recently returned from a fantastic 8 night camp at Haversham Sailing Club near Milton Keynes - a week of sailing, powerboating, kayaking, SUPing, rafting and generally messing about on the water! The weather was hot, the water was great, many badges have been earned and the leaders are knackered!!đŸ˜‚

Congratulations to Conner for achieving his Chief Scout Gold Award! Particularly impressive as he only joined the Troop 2 and a half years ago.
The Chief Scout’s Gold Award is the highest achievement in the Scout section, requiring six activity badges and nine challenge awards. Well done!!!

Some of our fantastic Cubs popped up to Southwater Country Park last week. They were meant to be on the water but couldn't due water quality worries - however they didn't let that put a dampener on things and instead carried out a litter pick and then got to mess about in the adventure park afterwards!!!

A couple of weeks ago our fab group took part in the Durrington Festival. Our Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs took part in the parade, and the group had 4 stalls, including our World Famous Crockery Smashing Stall!!
