For the Love of a Child

For the Love of a Child We help children & families with therapeutic programmes supporting, trauma, loss, & mental health. We've worked in tribal villages in India.

For the love of a child works with children aged 0 - 18 from different faiths and backgrounds. Our aim is to support children and their families who have gone through trauma, loss and are struggling with their mental health and wellbeing. We do this by providing therapeutic programmes that target trauma in a safe way using dramatherapy, art, music, dance and movement. Our programmes have had gover

nment recognition and have been used abroad for those that have had to deal with war and conflict in Afghanistan, alongside the Syrian border and Iraq. In our own country in the UK we are working in schools to support the mental health crisis in children in Dundee. We are also working alongside the Afghan refugees and the Ukrainian families who recently arrived in Dundee and Derby. For the Love of a Child has recently returned from the earthquake zone in Turkey. We aim to run mobile therapy programmes into various camps to support the significant trauma that occurs after a catastrophic event. We are a registered charity in Scotland, UK.

Programme Spotlight ✨

The Listening Stone is one of our flagship programmes currently running in schools across Scotland, including in Dundee. Using Story and Metaphor to help children explore themes such as loss, friendship, identity, fear, anxiety, depression, resilience, hope, destiny, and purpose.

Week 3 and 4 help children navigate life’s big questions just like Little No-Name in the story who asks “Who am I? What am I here for? And where do I belong? “

Using dramatherapy, storytelling and creative arts, children explore identity, emotions, and relationships in a safe, imaginative space. Children find their voices, Teachers notice the difference and Families feel the change.

“It gave my child words for feelings they didn’t know how to say.” - parent feedback ❤️
