It's Festival of Learning, Have a Go Month!

As humans, we're always learning. Maybe this month you might choose to learn something entirely new?!

Keep an eye out for free or low-cost learning activities, including taster sessions, online courses, and workshops. The initiative aims to spark curiosity and personal growth, making learning accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

It is an opportunity to try new skills or subjects, whether it's a language taster, coding workshop, or art class. The festival also promotes community building and enhances employment prospects, ensuring there's something for everyone to participate in.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Consent Coalition! ๐ŸŽ‰

"The Consent Coalition is made up of 20 Nottingham-based statutory and voluntary sector organisations who are specialists in the sexual violence field. We are working together to raise awareness on the importance of consent, challenge myths about r**e and sexual violence, and encourage victims-survivors to access support and report. Together we spread messages about consent, sexual safety and support to people living in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and beyond."

Many of us have felt anxious at one point or another...
If we don't know how to cope with our feelings of anxiety, they can get out of control and stop us from doing the things we need or want to do.

The more often and the longer we feel anxious, the more it can become a problem.

Dealing with anxiety can be hard. But there are some things we can do to manage these tough feelings:

Focus on your Breathing
Breathe out for longer than you breathe in

Exercise
Activity doesnโ€™t have to be vigorous; try some gentle stretches, yoga, or seated exercises. Or just go for a walk.

Journaling or keeping a diary
Itโ€™s important that we donโ€™t try to ignore our worries. Taking the time to keep a record of whatโ€™s happening in your life and how itโ€™s affecting you can help you understand what is triggering your feelings of anxiety.

Spending time in nature
Any amount of time doing this is good for us, but to really get the benefit, try to spend a significant period of time immersed in nature.

Try to get some quality sleep or rest

Try to eat a healthy diet

Connect with people and talk about how you feel
Sometimes saying whatโ€™s worrying you out loud can take away its power over you.

If your feelings of anxiety are not going away, are having a negative impact on your life, or often prevent you from doing things you need or want to do, seek support.

Speak to your GP or healthcare professional about the support available in your area.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, feeling unable to cope or causing harm, reach out to:

Crisis Team Bassetlaw

NHS 111
