🦆💜 Just under a week to go until Aurora’s Red Duck Race!

There’s still time to sponsor a duck and be part of the fun. For just £20, you can sponsor a Red Duck and help support local people affected by cancer and long-term health conditions.

Your duck will take part in the Aurora Red Duck Race at the Shireoaks WI Duck Race on Sunday 21st June 🌊

Our duck pond will remain in the centre throughout July, so you can still come along and see all our wonderful ducks on display, why not add your name or logo?! 🦆✨

The Heritage Hub celebrates Worksop’s people, places, object & stories, and they have new exhibitions each month 🤓

After being recently refreshed, you can visit the charity shop where you can find everything from clothing and games to plants and electricals! 📀

The Curve Gym is open to the public and offers a variety of classes including yoga, pilates, and fit & fun workout sessions you can book on to 🧘

By booking in for beauty therapy treatments you are helping fund free treatments for those affected by cancer 🧖

You can finish, or start, your visit with a bite to eat at Valerie’s Tearoom 🍰

Our young people’s “Creating History” projects on display!

Back in February, for LGBT+ History Month, young people from our groups worked on their own creative projects, creating artwork that focused on their interests, or something that matters to them.

For Pride Month, we’ve been working alongside the Aurora Wellbeing Centre to showcase these projects. The Aurora Centre provides a range of wellbeing services and support for cancer patients. Located in the old Worksop Library, Aurora is also home to The Heritage Hub, a museum focusing on local history and the stories of local communities. We’re proud to have worked with Aurora to help tell the stories of local LGBT+ young people this Pride Month.

The Heritage Hub is open to the public Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm. Our young people’s work will be on display throughout June!

Thank you to the organisers of the Gringley Open Gardens & Classic Cars event for inviting Aurora Wellbeing to be part of such a fantastic community day. 💜🌿🚗

It was wonderful to meet so many people, raise awareness of the support we provide, and chat with everyone who stopped by our stand. Thank you to all who visited us throughout the day.

Over the coming months we'll be celebrating Pride Month, Black History Month, local artists, community stories, Remembrance, and exploring life in Worksop between the wars. We'll also be welcoming Worksop Art Society and showcasing the inspiring work of a locally-based international charity.

Whether you're interested in local history, heritage, art or community stories, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

💬 We'd love to see you get involved – and for our Remembrance Display we're particularly keen to hear your family stories, memories and item loans from the World Wars.
