Tonight Scouts and Explorers undertook a cycle ride. This is one of the advantages of our HQ being adjacent to a cycle path. Well done everyone, we got round almost exactly to plan. No photos of the Explorers, they did the same route but blazed ahead.
The way our Scouts treat each other with compassion, support and encouragement on these kind of activities is amazing. Really excellent team work lads, good effort all round 💪.

Seaton Scouts would like to thank Marra Motors - Service Centre for doing our vans MOT.
Great bunch of lads who take pride in their work.

Thanks again!

Dodd Fell is a special place for all Seaton Scouts. Every year at the start of summer we make a trip to polish the memorials and to invest our new Scouts. Busy night tonight with 5 Scouts and 2 Explorers making their promise in these glorious surroundings.

Tonight the Scouts and Explorers undertook separate what-3-words challenges. They were away from the HQ navigating themselves so no photos of the activity, which they completed. The Explorers got back early enough to help Dave cutting the grass.

Tonight Scouts and Explorers where challenged to navigate themselves between grid references. The finishing point for both was Loweswater church but different starting locations and they had to arrive at exactly 21:15. The Scouts arrived at almost exactly 21:15, the Explorers walked about 4km and arrived at 21:17. Extremely well done to both teams.

Tonight the Scouts were "Scout Nav". They took it in turns to read the map and direct the Scout van around various local villages. Well done lads, good job all round and parents...if your sat nav dies and you have to go all 1990's with the road atlas, here are some reliable copilots 👍

Tonight the Scouts and Explorers were challenged to put up a tent and make a hot cup of tea. It was a windy cold evening on the shore at Harrington but both teams were sucessful 👍. Well done lads, although next time perhaps the Scouts will pay attention to the wind direction like the Explorers did. I know which tent would still have been there tomorrow and which might have ended up on the Isle of Man 🤣.

Tonight the Scouts and Explorers went down to the shore at Maryport to make a fire in challenging windy conditions. After sucessfully building a windbrake from what we could find a roaring fire was established. Hotdogs all round to celebrate a job well done 👍.

Tonight we did an activity all about trust, teamwork and communication. Tied together in a line we went 'mountaineering' in the dark through a wood. Difficult terrain, steep muddy slopes that were according to one of the Scouts "very sticky" because there were a lot of sticks 🤣. They also had to look out for "trees sticking out of the ground"...🤣🤣🤣. Well done everyone, nobody fell over and even navigated over a couple of fallen trees.
