Our neighbours at Red House Glass Cone have a steeplejack on site this Friday, and itâs going to be a brilliant bit of heritage craft in action.
Fred Dibnah famously necked a few pints before climbing this in 1989. Different times, different rules. Todayâs steeplejacks work with full safety systems, training and precision, but the spectacle is still every bit as impressive.
If youâre in the Glass Quarter on Friday, swing by Red House Glass Cone and watch the climb. Itâs a rare chance to see traditional skills, engineering knowâhow and Black Country history in the making, all in one moment.
