It’s our 10th Birthday today! Here is our story and how we started.
A Decade of Compassion: The Story of Worcestershire Homeless Shoe Box and Gift Bag Appeal

Ten years ago, what began as a small, heartfelt dream—an idea to bring comfort and hope to those in need—has blossomed into something truly extraordinary. The Worcestershire Homeless Shoe Box and Gift Bag Appeal started with humble beginnings, but today, it stands as a testament to the power of community, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

Over the past decade, we have grown far beyond what we ever imagined. From providing thousands of hot meals and drinks through our street kitchen for the homeless to distributing countless items of clothing, we have been privileged to serve those who needed it most. Our journey expanded further with the creation of a community pantry and fridge nearly seven years ago, where we’ve saved thousands of tons of food from going to landfill. Instead, that food has been transformed into life-saving parcels, nourishing families and individuals not just in our local community but in surrounding areas as well.

People often ask us, “Why do you do this?” The answer is simple yet profound: to bring happiness. Every day, every week, every month, we strive to make life a little brighter for someone else. It hasn’t always been easy. There have been challenges, tough days, and moments of doubt. But through it all, the rewards of seeing smiles, hearing words of gratitude, and knowing we’re making a difference have made every effort worthwhile.

Our journey has taken us from the back of a small van to operating out of two dedicated units. This growth is a reflection of the love and support we’ve received from so many people. To our incredible volunteers who give their time and energy, to our generous donors who believe in our mission, and to our supporters who stand by us every step of the way—we simply could not have done this without you.

As we celebrate this incredible milestone, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who has been part of this journey. Your belief in what we do has fueled our passion and enabled us to achieve more than we ever thought possible.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in us, for standing with us, and for helping us create a brighter, kinder, and more compassionate community. Here’s to the next ten years of hope, love, and making a difference—together. 🩷

This weeks bookings are now open, the pantry is open to anyone you don’t need to be in receipt of benefits, just book your time slot pop along and collect your food parcel, each parcel is full of great food and a bag of fruit and vegetables and you can also help yourself to arrange of bakery items, help us stop food waste

Please donate a gift to our Christmas gift appeal, we’re looking for donation for both male and female ages 0 to 16 years, please don’t wrap we will wrap them, donations can be dropped off on a Tuesday 12pm to 3pm or Wednesday 8.30am to 4.30pm if gifts can be new please
