You don’t need to be “good at conversation” to come along.

You don’t need to share anything personal.

Walk & Talk is simply a space to be around others, whether that means chatting, listening, or just enjoying the walk and a good coffee.

At St Paul’s, we see every day how connection often starts in small, unplanned ways; a hello, a shared moment, recognising a familiar face over time.

This is about creating more of those moments, in a way that feels easy and natural. Sometimes, just showing up is enough.

🚶‍♀️ Walk. Talk. Connect. 💛

Following the success of our first Walk & Talk, we're delighted to be bringing it back on Saturday 27th June.

The idea is simple: a coffee, a walk, some fresh air and good conversation.

At St Paul's Hostel, we see every day how important connection and community can be. Mental health, loneliness and homelessness are often closely linked, and while there are no simple solutions, we believe that bringing people together is always a positive place to start.

Whether you're looking to meet new people, get out of the house, support a local charity or simply enjoy a walk with others, we'd love to welcome you.

For many residents, one of the biggest changes isn’t just having a roof over their head, it’s being around people again.

After periods of isolation, even small interactions can feel significant.

Shared meals, time in communal spaces, or simply recognising a familiar face all help to rebuild a sense of normality.

It’s often these everyday moments that lay the foundations for something bigger. At St Paul's we work to provide a fresh start for our residents - something that anyone of us could need at any point.

Isolation doesn’t always feel dramatic. It can build quietly over time, until it starts to feel like the norm.

Part of the work at St Paul’s is gently helping people reconnect, both with others and with the world around them.

Through counselling, group activities, and opportunities to build life skills, residents are supported to regain confidence at their own pace.
There’s no fixed timeline, just steady progress towards independence.

If you’d like to be part of that journey, you can support our work here https://justgiving.com/charity/stpaulshostel

Kindness shapes how people are supported at St Paul’s.

It’s reflected in the way staff, volunteers and residents interact, and in the environment we work to create every day.

Alongside structured support, it’s this consistent, respectful approach that helps people feel safe enough to begin making changes.

If you would like to help us help others, you can donate via the link below. Even a few ££ helps us towards meals, clean bedding and a fresh start.

Mental health and homelessness are closely linked, often in both directions.

Many of the people we support are navigating anxiety, trauma, or other challenges alongside rebuilding their lives.

That’s why support at St Paul’s goes beyond housing. Through access to one-to-one support, wellbeing activities, and opportunities to engage with others in a safe environment, residents are supported to gradually rebuild confidence and emotional stability.

These foundations are essential, not just for wellbeing, but for sustaining a tenancy, engaging with work or training, and moving towards long-term independence.

💬 Come on your own and know you’ll be welcomed

Sometimes the biggest difference starts with something really simple, a walk and a chat.
