31 years of remembering Vin💙
In 1996, Vin sadly died from acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), aged just 29.
That October, his sister Nicola, along with family and friends, held their first bike ride in his memory. More than three decades later, the tradition continues.
This year’s ride marked what would have been Vin’s 60th birthday, with 24 of his friends and family taking part. Together, they raised £631 for Leukaemia Care.
The family’s fundraising has continued across generations. In 2024, Nicola’s daughter, Maddie Green, ran the London Marathon for Leukaemia Care in memory of her uncle Vin, raising over £2,270.
Vin’s dad, Adam, also took part in the bike rides over the years, with his last ride in October 2024, just weeks before he sadly passed away.
The family have since fundraised in his memory too. Altogether, the family have now raised more than £5,000 for Leukaemia Care over the years. We’re so grateful to Nicola, Maddie, their family and friends, and everyone who has taken part, donated or shared a memory over the years.
Their kindness helps us support people affected by leukaemia and their loved ones. 31 years.
