Worcestershire Camera Club

Worcestershire Camera Club Worcestershire Camera Club runs a varied programme of talks, competitions, practical evenings, mentoring, photo trips & a diploma scheme.

All details on the website www.worcestershirecameraclub.co.uk We're a friendly and informal bunch! We also have a private Facebook group for club members. https://www.facebook.com/groups/234299728439224/?ref=share

In addition to the weekly Tuesday programme which is open to visitors, (usually alternating in-person and Zoom sessions) the club runs 4 informal Special Interest Groups on Thursdays i

n most months, generally intended for members only. Currently Contemporary Group is running very successfully over Zoom while AV, Digital and Photography Development Groups are holding in-person meetings. We also offer mentoring options and run a comprehensive Diploma scheme from basic to advanced levels across many genres. Members also arrange photowalks and visits. Digital Photography Group meets monthly throughout the year to support members in practical ways, discussing and demonstrating techniques on all aspects of photography, from basic camera techniques, using Photoshop and Lightroom to improve images, through to printing and presentation, and issuing the occasional challenge to take us out of our comfort zones! There is a Contemporary Photography group where the main principle is that pictures are ‘about' the subject rather than ‘of’ it - always an interesting and varied evening! We also have an AudioVisual group meeting every couple of months, supprting effective use of audiovisual presentation; it can be a great way to present your work - and fun, too! The latest addition to the fold is the Photography Development Group, encouraging members to develop further through competition, exhibition and other sharing of images, working for the club diplomas and external distinctions. This also supplements the mentoring scheme. All the details are on the website - do have a browse! https://www.worcestershirecameraclub.co.uk/wcc33/index.php/home/join-the-club

Sad to hear of the death yesterday of David Hockney.

Hockney was an English painter, draughtsman, printmaker, and photographer.

An important contributor to the pop art movement of the 1960s, and considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

In this post, I show my FRPS panel and highlight two clichés that I initially regarded with some scepticism, but that both turned out to be true.
