And, as we all stagger to the end of term, and social media is filled with proud parents understandably lauding their children's achievements....... here's, too, to those kids whose school years perhaps don't get a mention in the social media scroll of achievements.
Here's to those children who've found this year really, really tough.
To those who have struggled to keep up with their peers.
To those who've been hit by the fall out from friendship groups.
To those who have been ostracised, isolated, alone.
To those who have struggled to conform with what's expected of them; to our square pegs in round holes.
To those who are battling health conditions.
To those who have been painfully affected by bullying.
To those who have felt like they are consistently in trouble this year.
To those who missed their grades.
To those who have struggled with transitioning to a new school.
To those whose milestones might seem to an outside world to be nothing; but for whom actually, those tiny milestones are everything.
To all of those children; and to those parents and teachers, who have been there to support them, every step of the way.
Perhaps your achievements don't get lauded so much all over social media.
But my goodness me, they are achievements to be proud of.
Some of the biggest achievements this year will have been those that have gone completely unseen by the majority.
It hasn't been a high-flying, outwardly successful school year for everyone.
But sometimes it's not the big milestones, but the little, tiny, unseen steps.......that are those moments most to be celebrated.
If it's been a tough year: we hear you, and we're with you. Every step of the way ❤️
