๐It's Bees' Needs Week! ๐
Did you know that bees and other pollinators play a vital role in our ecosystems and the food we eat? The good news is that even small changes can make a big difference:
- Plant nectar-rich flowers
- Let areas of your garden grow a little wilder
- Cut your grass less often
- Leave nesting and hibernation spots undisturbed
- Think carefully before using pesticides.
With the school holidays just around the corner, why not spend 10 minutes in your garden or local park taking part in a Flower-Insect Timed (FIT) Count?๐ผ
Simply watch the flowers and count the insects you see, then submit your results to the UK Pollinator Monitoring Scheme. Every count helps improve our understanding of where pollinators live and how their populations are changing. ๐
