🌸It's Infant Mental Health Awareness Week and this year's theme is attunement.
Why is it important to try and understand what my baby/ies are feeling or trying to communicate?
👶🏼Babies grow astonishingly in their first months, with much of this happening quietly in their amazing developing brains. They're born with billions of brain cells that need to form vital connections through everyday experiences - being talked to, held, fed, and comforted.
👶🏿When you notice your baby's cues and respond with care, you help these connections flourish. This gentle, loving responsiveness builds a strong foundation, supporting your child's resilience, emotional understanding, and sense of security in the world and in their relationships.
This can look like hours and hours of cuddling, rocking, swaying and bouncing, and many, many feeds or skin to skin contact.
Each baby is different, try not to compare.
It's hard, we hear you, we are present for you. Nurturing and supporting parents so that you can care for your babies.
