💚 ShopMobility Worcester urgently needs volunteers 💚

At our recent AGM, we were reminded just how much ShopMobility depends on the generosity of our volunteers. We would like to say a huge thank you to every one of our current volunteers for the time, commitment and friendship they give. Without them, we simply could not provide the service we do.

But we now urgently need more people to join the team. Even a small amount of your time could make a real difference and help us keep ShopMobility running for people who rely on our mobility scooters and wheelchairs to get out and about in Worcester.

🚌 Good news for disabled bus pass holders

From 1 April 2027, disabled bus passes in England will be valid for free local bus travel at any time of day, removing the current weekday morning restriction. (gov.uk)

For many disabled people, that will mean greater freedom to travel for work, appointments, shopping, education or simply getting out and about when it suits them.

And if the bus brings you into Worcester but you need a little extra help getting around once you arrive, ShopMobility Worcester offers mobility scooter and wheelchair hire.

📣 Have your say on future care and support in Worcestershire

Citizens Advice Bromsgrove and Redditch are asking people across Worcestershire to share their experiences, concerns and ideas about planning ahead for care and support.

The questionnaire will help shape future information, support and services so that people can remain independent, make informed choices and plan ahead with confidence.

There are no right or wrong answers, and you can skip any questions you would rather not answer.

👉 Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire and have your say.

We know that thinking about needing care or support in the future isn’t always easy. Many people haven’t had these conversations before, and that’s completely understandable.

📢 Summer Bank Holiday Closure

ShopMobility Worcester will be closed on Monday 31 August for the Summer Bank Holiday.

We’ll be back as usual afterwards and look forward to seeing you then.

💙 It’s ShopMobility Awareness Week and Volunteers’ Week! 💙

This week we’re saying a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers.

Our volunteers help people stay independent, access Worcester city centre, attend appointments, meet friends, go shopping and enjoy days out. Simply put, ShopMobility Worcester couldn’t operate without them.

At the moment we’re facing a shortage of volunteers and have had to close on Wednesdays. If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, even for a few hours a week, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you to every volunteer, past and present, who has helped make Worcester more accessible for disabled people and those with limited mobility.

ShopMobility Worcester will be closed on Monday 25 May for the Spring Bank Holiday.

However, if you would like to hire a mobility scooter for the whole bank holiday weekend, you can still do so:
