Glendale Gateway Trust We are an independent charitable, community development trust supporting the community of Glendale.

The Glendale Gateway Trust is a charitable community development trust based in the small rural town of Wooler in North Northumberland. Based at the Cheviot Centre, the trust was set up to support the community of Glendale – one of the most sparsely populated areas of the country. The GGT operate a community and business centre in Wooler, and also own a number of commercial units on the High Stree

Our mission is to benefit the community, economy, environment and heritage of Glendale through providing and/or promoting:

•A multi-purpose community hub
•Business development and work opportunities
•More affordable housing

•Co-operation with public, private and voluntary sector organisations
•Support to community initiatives in Glendale

Crafty Fox Designs is a very talented Artisan based in Tweedmouth. After enjoying success at the Wooler Farmer's Markets over the last year, they were invited to sell their beautiful products in The Cheviot Centre.

So many lovely gifts and souvenirs at very reasonable prices.

Plant Share Event - Today!

Come along to The Cheviot Centre and enjoy a lovely morning with many plants to share, coffee, cake & live music!

Weather is looking a little unpredictable but we have an indoor option set up as well as outdoor.

A few reminders about some great events coming up this week…

Friday night - is movie night! Marching Band:

Saturday - Plant Share Event hosted by Glendale Connect:
This is a lovely community event, pop along to share/take excess plants/seeds for your garden. While you are there you can enjoy live music from the Glendale Ceilidh Band and some delicious refreshments. There will even be some kiddy crafts at the library so bring the little ones too!

Tuesday - Rural IT Drop -in
Neil will be in Wooler again to help with any technical questions - phones, ipads etc, he can help with any issue!

Wednesday - Wooler Library
Please note that the library will be closed on Wednesday morning and will re-open at 12 midday. Storytime for the little ones will still go ahead - please come along for 10:30.

Wooler Arts - 3 more fantastic concerts coming up in June - please see attached posters for information. Get your tickets before they sell out - the last concert was hugely popular!

Sound Bath - another opportunity next Friday to relax and float away on a Sound Bath hosted by Fiona. Book in to secure your spot.

This Saturday - pop along to The Cheviot Centre for this lovely event, hosted by Glendale Connect.

If you are looking for some plants for your garden or have excess, feel free to bring, exchange or take whatever you like.

Enjoy some summer music from the Ceilidh Band, some delicious refreshments and relax in the garden.

Fingers crossed for good weather, but the event will move indoors if rainy.

The Glendale Gateway Trust are very keen to maintain the heritage tradition of Wooler having a Farmer's Market.

We are disappointed that the current organiser stepped down recently, it has left us in a position where we want to help but aren't able to do so in the capacity that Wooler has become accustomed to. The organisation of the markets was handed over with support and in good faith.

However.......

We want to ensure traditions are preserved and we will therefore host one summer market and one Christmas market at The Cheviot Centre!

The summer one will take place on Sunday 19th July.

If you would like to take part and have a stall, and have not yet been in email correspondence with us, please contact us as soon as possible on 01668 282406 to confirm.

Beyond 2026, the offer still stands that we can assist anyone who wishes to take over the running of the markets with storage of the equipment.

Team bonding and brain storming should never be done on an empty stomach!
So we took our team meeting to Milan last night and enjoyed a wonderful evening.

We took the opportunity to formally welcome Amanda, our new Finance Officer to the GGT team..welcome onboard Amanda!

Lots of great projects from GGT and special events at the Cheviot Centre to come in the summer months..watch this space…

A big thanks to Ellie and the Milan team for the wonderful food and service. Always highly recommended for a fantastic meal!
