Glendale Gateway Trust We are an independent charitable, community development trust supporting the community of Glendale.

The Glendale Gateway Trust is a charitable community development trust based in the small rural town of Wooler in North Northumberland. Based at the Cheviot Centre, the trust was set up to support the community of Glendale – one of the most sparsely populated areas of the country. The GGT operate a community and business centre in Wooler, and also own a number of commercial units on the High Stree

Our mission is to benefit the community, economy, environment and heritage of Glendale through providing and/or promoting:

•A multi-purpose community hub
•Business development and work opportunities
•More affordable housing
•The tourist offer in the area
•A wide range of public services in the area
•The re-use of old buildings and the vitality of key centres
•Co-operation with public, private and voluntary sector organisations
•Support to community initiatives in Glendale

What's on at The Cheviot Centre...

The Cheviot Centre schedule for the next week, starting tomorrow Friday, 7th July.

Don't forget that Newcastle College are providing a Family Fun drop-in morning every Monday in August - lots of games and fun for all ages. Everyone welcome!

We have some fabulous new stock in The Cheviot Centre gift shop this week.

The Handycraftshed, run by Kirsty Hand offers some unique gifts. They are lovingly hand crafted using felts.

Come and check out the cute felty creatures! You can even buy a mini felting kit to have a try at making your very own loveable felt friend!

You may have heard that The Glendale Gateway Trust is celebrating a milestone this summer...

30 years of The Glendale Gateway Trust and 25 years since The Cheviot Centre first opened it's doors.

To commemorate and celebrate the occasion - the wonderful people** behind Glendale Live, along with a dedicated team have produced this fantastic souvenir booklet.

Read all about GGT, from it's inception back in 1996 to the present day. Learn how The Cheviot Centre came to be and the changes it's been through since it was opened by the then Prince Charles.

It is packed with history, fun facts, interviews and things you never knew, even if you are a longtime local resident.

You can pick up your free copy at The Cheviot Centre and several other outlets in Wooler and the surrounding villages.

There will be plants, local honey, delicious tray bakes, beautiful gift candle ware, handicrafts, souvenirs, gifts, fresh lemonade and loads more!
