Happy Chanukah 💫

Jewish festival of light celebrated online tonight with the first lighting of the candle, a blessing and apple latkes (fritters) soaked in brandy, deep fried and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon.

Claiming the entirety of who we are as an essential part of our healing journey towards discovery of the Self. 🙏

This is to say a huge thank you to all our lovely Me Time participants for coming to our recent sessions, it has been a total joy. We couldn’t find you a big enough bunch of flowers. 🙏❤️

Here are a few of the lovely comments from the feedback survey:

‘ The opportunity to feel like an individual rather than a mother only’

‘Access to cultural conversations’

‘Opportunity to have a creative space of my own and a space where my baby is welcome.’

‘Love all of it. The interesting discussions about well-being and art. Carefully curated sessions. The time to make and use my creative mind and hands… and I can’t fail to mention the homemade tea and cake, what’s not to like?.. and the company of other parents, children and facilitators- the formation of new friends.’

Missing these scenes from our Monday morning Me Time sessions.

‘ Connection is the first step towards any act of acknowledgement, accountability or responsibility. It offers, whether fleeting or long-lasting, a closeness to all others. It is jubilant. Ecstatic. Without fear.’

As part of the session on Monday around learning to listen and attune to our bodies we also looked at Mary Oliver’s poem Wild Geese. She invites us to ‘let the soft animal of your body love what it loves.’

Took some time at Shingle yesterday to feel the sun on my back and sort through the pebbles letting my soft animal like body loves what it loves.

A beautiful session yesterday connecting with our bodies, bringing awareness to our innermost happenings. Our bodies carry memory and are the source of our greatest wisdom.

Following guided breathing exercises we drew outlines of our bodies taking time to map any areas of pain or tension. Rubbing our hands together we placed our warm hands on those sore spots breathing and releasing into them.

This session was inspired by the Dear Body activity by Anna Furse that is featured in the fabulous new book ‘Maternal Journal’ by Laura Godfrey-Isaacs and Samantha McGovern.

Laura Godfrey-Isaacs is an artist and midwife. Samantha McGowan is a mother and communications specialist.
Anna Furse is a writer, academic and pioneer of women’s experimental theatre).

While we take a break from Me Time sessions until the new year we recommend you grab yourself a sketchbook and order a copy of this fantastic book to support you through your parenting journey.

What does my body need right now?

A p*e, a rest, something healthy to eat, a glass of water, speaking to an adult, to say ‘no’, a walk, a hug…

Through noticing our own needs we are better able to respond and take care of ourselves. Developing our own bodily attunement also helps to ground ourselves and to notice and respond more appropriately to the needs of others around us, including our little ones.

What does my body need right now? will be the last in our current series of Me Time sessions. We still have a few places left for this Monday 1st November, 10am-12noon. If you’d like to join please email

[email protected]

Remember there’s no pressure to participate in the activity it’s fine to show up for a cuppa and a chat. We’d love to meet you. ❤️

A big 🙌🏻 to our friends for an amazing morning. The place was buzzing with creativity.

An excellent kids workshop with making these jesmonite marbled pumpkins… a wrap-around window art installation being installed by and a tranquil workspace for a little me time. Who says you need to leave Suffolk?

is based in Saxmundham and hosts exhibitions, events, film screenings and more as well as providing art studios and desk space. Check it out!
