Gdańsk, you have been incredible 🇵🇱
Hi all, Kirstie (alto) here 👋
What an amazing few days Sarah and I have had in Gdańsk on tour with The People’s Show Choir – Wolverhampton. It has been such a wonderful few days of music, laughter, memories and friendship with a truly fabulous group of people. We’ve definitely laughed a lot… and I’m sure there may have been a few tears along the way too! ❤️
We spent our days enjoying the sunshine, exploring the city and learning more about its incredible history and heritage. One highlight was our boat trip through the shipyard and out into the Baltic Sea to Sopot, where we enjoyed a few relaxing hours on the beach before another fantastic concert.
We also had the pleasure of taking part in a workshop on Thursday with the Polish music group Zespół Pieśni i Tańca Gdańsk, which was thoroughly enjoyable and such a lovely experience to be part of.
Honestly, it has been such an enjoyable experience, and both Sarah and I have met some incredible people along the way. A special mention has to go to Pete — although he’s a Halesowen member, he’s also one of our fantastic Baritones at TSPC Wolverhampton — and also to the amazing Shrewsbury ladies, who are always such a huge support to our choir.
The truth is, Sarah and I decided not to join the organised excursions because we wanted to explore in a way that suited us, and we’re both so glad we did. We ended up spending quality time with choir members we may never otherwise have got to know so well, and we’ve made some wonderful friendships that we can’t wait to continue at future concerts.
Alongside its rich history, Gdańsk also gave us plenty of opportunities to relax in some lovely bars and restaurants between performances — the perfect balance to such a busy and exciting few days.
Thank you to everyone who made this trip so special. Here are just a few memories from our incredible week away 🎶🫶🏻 🎶
