As we come to the end of 2025, we have a look back and celebrate some of the things our cadet group was busy getting up to throughout the year….
In May we took part in the Fire Service Cadet games which saw the units across the service take part in a mixture of drills including haul aloft, water rescue and knots and lines and came first winning the overall competition 🥇
Throughout the year we held multiple car washes where with everyone’s support we give a hard days work washing cars to raise funds for the firefighters charity and our cadet group which allows us to provide and put on different activities! 🧼
In July, our cadets had the opportunity to visit the control room for Staffordshire and West Midlands fire service and had a sneak peak behind the scenes looking at how all 999 calls get processed and the work that happens by the amazing control room staff! 📞 📱
They also went to go visit Bickenhill Technical rescue station and managed to have a look at all the specialist equipment they use and the type of incidents they would attend, as well as having a go at their confined space crawl! 🚒
In August our cadets went away for the week and enjoyed our annual summer camp. It was a fun week away where our cadets did crate stacking, zip lining, 3G swing and a day out to Drayton manor, many memories made as we look forward to the next one.. 🏕️
In November, we always like to take part and show our support during Remembrance Day and join other units from across the city as we march round and form up on parade in the square!
And as always through the year, our cadets work hard and give it all during our drill nights, where we learn new skills and practice different drills..
It’s been one busy and fun year for us and we can’t wait to see what we get up to in 2026…
