National Cadets Week – Day 3 | Volunteer Celebration
You see the cadets.
You see them on parade, climbing, camping, learning new skills, competing, flying and taking on challenges they never thought they could.
But behind every one of those opportunities are volunteers.
At 1290 Wednesfield, our volunteers give their time, evenings, weekends, holidays, skills and experience to make those opportunities possible.
It’s the planning before parade night.
The paperwork after everyone has gone home.
The early starts for activities.
The weekends away.
The training, organising, driving, teaching, fixing, encouraging and sometimes just being there when a cadet needs someone to believe in them.
Much of what our volunteers do happens quietly, behind the scenes. But its impact can last a lifetime.
Today, we want to say thank you to every adult volunteer who gives their time to support 1290 Wednesfield and the wider RAF Air Cadets.
You don't just give your time.
You help give young people opportunities, confidence, skills and memories that can stay with them for life.
And if you've ever thought about getting involved yourself, there is always room for another person who wants to make a difference.
You could be the person who helps a young person discover what they're capable of.
