We were very pleased this week to make a donation to the Birmingham Ronald McDonald House, and we would like to extend our gratitude to all of our supporters who made this possible.

The Ronald McDonald house is a genuinely incredible facility, that people tend to not know about until they need it themselves. We had never heard of it, until we got given the paperwork in the PICU for us to be able to stay there whilst Noah was an inpatient at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

We will never forget the conversation with Dani, Noah’s first 1-1 PICU nurse. We had spent hours at Russell’s Hall, chasing answers whilst Noah fought for his life. Treated first for sepsis, then bronchiolitis, a consultant came to us and said “his heart seems a bit big on the X-ray, we are going to get an ECHO just to be sure”. Within an hour, we were facing a cardiologist who said to us “he has coarctation of the aorta. He’s got to have open heart surgery as soon as possible”. The next 5 hours were a blur of medications to keep him alive, nervously waiting for the critical care ambulance. We were then told he would be having a ‘scoop and run’: “we will scoop him up, run him through the hospital and onto the ambulance. We need to get him to the children’s hospital as quickly as possible else he will not survive”. This mad rush ended in complete calm, with Noah safely in PICU and Dani handing us the paperwork.

“It’s called the Ronald McDonald house, you can stay there for the whole time Noah is in hospital, it is completely free and less than 5 minutes walk away.”

We were genuinely gobsmacked.
The house provided us with a safe comfort. Somewhere to have a much needed break from the mental strain of the hospital wards. A place for our families to visit us. A sense of home and normality amongst the chaos that our lives had unexpectedly become.

We will forever be indebted to the house, it is a place that means so much to us and gave us so much in the most difficult of times. It means more than you can imagine to be able to give back just a fraction of what they gave us.

❤️ National Heart Month ❤️

February is National Heart Month — a time to raise awareness, share stories, and stand together with everyone affected by congenital heart disease and other heart conditions. For families like ours, this month is deeply personal. It’s about honoring the strength of our heart warriors, remembering those we’ve lost, and showing love and compassion to every child, adult, and family walking this journey.

We mark Heart Month to shine a light on the realities of CHD, to encourage understanding, and to remind those affected that they are never alone. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know. ❤️

We are so incredibly grateful to our amazing supporters — your kindness, generosity, and belief in our mission means everything to us. Because of you, we’re excited to share that we have some wonderful plans for this month, including making important donations and officially launching our website to help us reach and support even more families.

Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us spread hope, awareness, and heart. Together, we can make a difference. 💙❤️

❤️Heartaversary💙

This weekend marks one year since Noah’s heart surgery. One year of a journey we never thought we would be on. Noah’s story is one we have never shared the intricate details of on this platform, partly because it is difficult but mostly out of duty to Noah as he is far too young to know his own story yet. However, to put it very simply, we are extremely lucky that Noah is here and is a thriving, happy, healthy little boy who absolutely loves life and has a smile for everyone he meets. We owe an unquantifiable debt to the NHS and every single person who cared for Noah and saved his life.
Sadly, not every family will have the same outcome as us. CHD has no known cause, it cannot be prevented and it does not discriminate.

6000 babies a year are born with CHD.
100 of those babies leave hospital without a diagnosis. CHD accounts for 1 in every 10 infant deaths.

However, if detected, a significant amount of CHDs are treatable and treatment can lead those babies into long, healthy lives. That is why we are so focused on supporting as many families as we can that find themselves in the same position that we were in, and raising awareness of CHD.

But this weekend we celebrate Noah, and every baby with a poorly heart who shows more resilience and strength than they ever should have to. They truly are warriors 💙

In just two weeks time, I (Noah’s mom) will be taking on the challenge of the Stratford Marathon. This will mark one year since Noah’s life saving surgery and the beginning of a journey that resulted in this charity being established.

I will be running to raise money for children and babies affected by congenital heart disease, and to support their families, specifically through providing care packages and necessities to patients in the PICU and cardiac wards and their families, and funding mental health provision to support them during and after that difficult time.

We know first hand just how much of a difference it makes to not have to worry about the basics during that time, especially when you are there with only the clothes on your back like we were. We were so lucky be relatively close to home and have families to bring us supplies, but most people are not in that situation. Providing these necessities and mental health support will go so far in alleviating stress and worries, allowing families in the most difficult time to be able to focus on their babies.

Any support would be hugely appreciated to get me over that finish line! Link is in the bio / stories and:
