It’s a big night for football for many ⚽

Whoever you are supporting, moments like this bring people together across cultures and communities. We see that same spirit every day at RMC, as people connect and support one another across the West Midlands.

As you watch the game, remember to stay safe in the heat, keep cool, and look out for each other ☀️ For someone, it is definitely coming home 👀

Wrapping up the week with one last big thank you to everyone who came along and took part in the celebration event at The Exchange in Birmingham this week!

This Refugee Week has been about Courage, and it's amazing to see so many people coming together to share stories, experiences, and cultures. We are always stronger together and as a community.

Thank you to the University of Birmingham for partnering with us on this event, Asylum Matters, Stories of Hope and Home, Health Watch, Aspect Housing, West Midlands Multibank, National Literacy Trust, Shelanu Women's Craft Collective

We love hosting events like this and seeing the impact it can have, so we look forward to seeing you all at future events too!

"Courage" means different things to different people. 🧡

For some, it’s the journey of settling into a new place, like Nasima and her mother. For others, it’s about giving something back, like Liew, who supports people through his role at RMC and as a dedicated blood donor. 🩸

Their stories show the resilience and generosity that shape our communities.

It’s Refugee Week! This year, the national theme is Courage.

Courage isn't just a grand gesture; it’s the daily act of navigating a new system, learning a new language, and building a new future from the ground up. At RMC, we are honored to witness this courage every single day in the people we support.

How are you showing courage or supporting those who are?

Refugee Week is here, and we want to highlight a few upcoming events!

RMC has teamed up with the University of Birmingham to host their annual celebration at the exchange.

Plus, Celebrating Sanctuary is hosting their Refugee Week festival on Saturday and Sunday, and we'll be there at the MAC to see as many of you as possible.

Know of other events, let us know in the comments!

Refugee Week starts on Monday, with plenty happening across the West Midlands and lots of ways to get involved.

We're asking everyone to use the chance to learn more, get involved, and join the movement. The first thing you can do is take on one of the Simple Acts.

Thank you to all our incredible volunteers!

Last week we hosted celebration lunches across our centres for our volunteers, taking a moment to show our appreciation for all they do. RMC would not be the same without you all!
