Matilda Update ❤️❤️❤️
Remember gorgeous Matilda - she came in to us nearly 2 years ago - She was in a terrible state, in a virtually collapsed state, anaemic, thick matted fur an inch thick all over her, terrible diarrhoea caked everywhere, and far too unwell to be sedated to do anything for her, all we could do was make her comfy and give her plenty good food and medicaton from vet.
Well she improved, and was a gorgeous happy little soul, but healthwise it was very slow, with her still having constant watery diarrhoea, no matter what the vets tried.
She even had a faecal transplant (another cats poo into her bowel) last year to try to get good bacteria in there - this made her worse.
We had tried every type of anti diarrhoeal, pro, pre biotics, antibiotics, special food, steroids - nothing worked. The best we got was 'brown soup' instead of water. She was still a very happy purry girl, except when having a daily wash 🙈, but wasn't well enough for a spay.
So, we took her off all medication, and just tried Analergenic dry food and water - nothing else except love and fuss. It took some weeks to truly see a difference, but we progressed to brown Mr Whippy poo (sorry if I've put anyone off ice cream for life), and she was at last putting a bit of weight on.
So, we added another hypoallergenic dry, then cooked chicken - we started to get long, but soft sausage poo. Then tried bits of normal type cat food (she hated the hypoallergenic wet food with a passion) some made her go loose again, but Sheba suited her, and chicken Lik e Lix - so her food was set daily.
In the area she was being cared for in, all of them had to have same as her all day and evening, she went in to her puppy pen bedroom each night, so they could have normal food, and she could stick to her diet - she was such a good girl, never a problem, used to put herself to bed 🤣 if I was a bit late.
Anyway, she needed that bit more, to get her fully fit - Michelle and Deb had a space in their hearts to heal when lovely Lavinia passed on, so Matilda went to them.
Oh my life, she walked in and made it her own, like she had been there forever ❤️ totally took over the house, bossing the girls round so she got exactly what she wanted, it was lovely to watch 😻
She weighed 4kg - over double her original weight when she came in - she had a clean bill of health and....Normal Poo 🎉💩🎉 So she was spayed, sailed through it, then had vaccinations - no bad effects.
So, although it has taken 2 years, with a lot of heartache, cleaning, vets bills, medication, special food - she is a perfect, gorgeous and happy little cat.
And the girls appear to have fallen for her, and she most definitely loves them, so we have an inkling she may have found her forever servants 🤔 🤔 😻🤣🤣❤️
