Huge thank you to Kittilitt for their donation of a pallet of wood pellet cat litter for us ❤️

It’s Freddies favourite 😻 Kittilitt's small bags are perfect for us, as some of us struggle with the large ones these days.

All donations are very gratefully received, they truly keep us going, without everyone's help we would not be able to carry on ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Topsy and Kittens update ❤️

This gorgeous little family are doing so well with Heather and Millie.

Topsy the mom we had to go back to catch the next day, is still frightened, but is starting to trust, though has a little protest hiss when anyone goes in to her - as does her one son Leo, he obviously thinks he is in charge 😻

Bruno and Buster are all black, and gorgeous, their tuxedo sister is Jade and she is a darling already.

They are all over 500g now, so appreciating the good food and Moms milk.

Thank you Heather and Millie, you're excellent midwives as always ###x

New Arrivals ❤️❤️

This gorgeous young lady turned up very pregnant in a garden frequented by local strays as they get a good lunch there - this includes a long standing tomcat, who evades capture - it appears he brought her to Anna's garden, as they are very fond of each other, and he must have decided Anna's family would look after his girlfriend, and what are probably his babies 😻

We hadn't got any spaces, but Anna agreed to foster her for us - Her name is Audrey - and yesterday she had 3 beautiful big babies, all over 100g at birth, which for such a small, young Mom are big.

Audrey is a lovely Mom to them, very attentive, and doesn't stop purring.

Not sure if her boyfriend realises, but Audreys life changes from now - no more babies for her or her kittens - and we are hoping to trap him and arrange for his pom pom removal asap, so he can have a healthier life as well.

If anyone would like to send kitten food, we would be very grateful, as it is relentless again this year 😭 Please NEUTER your cats - rescues truly can not cope with the numbers being born, it is heartbreaking ###

Matilda Update ❤️❤️❤️

Remember gorgeous Matilda - she came in to us nearly 2 years ago - She was in a terrible state, in a virtually collapsed state, anaemic, thick matted fur an inch thick all over her, terrible diarrhoea caked everywhere, and far too unwell to be sedated to do anything for her, all we could do was make her comfy and give her plenty good food and medicaton from vet.

Well she improved, and was a gorgeous happy little soul, but healthwise it was very slow, with her still having constant watery diarrhoea, no matter what the vets tried.

She even had a faecal transplant (another cats poo into her bowel) last year to try to get good bacteria in there - this made her worse.

We had tried every type of anti diarrhoeal, pro, pre biotics, antibiotics, special food, steroids - nothing worked. The best we got was 'brown soup' instead of water. She was still a very happy purry girl, except when having a daily wash 🙈, but wasn't well enough for a spay.

So, we took her off all medication, and just tried Analergenic dry food and water - nothing else except love and fuss. It took some weeks to truly see a difference, but we progressed to brown Mr Whippy poo (sorry if I've put anyone off ice cream for life), and she was at last putting a bit of weight on.

So, we added another hypoallergenic dry, then cooked chicken - we started to get long, but soft sausage poo. Then tried bits of normal type cat food (she hated the hypoallergenic wet food with a passion) some made her go loose again, but Sheba suited her, and chicken Lik e Lix - so her food was set daily.

In the area she was being cared for in, all of them had to have same as her all day and evening, she went in to her puppy pen bedroom each night, so they could have normal food, and she could stick to her diet - she was such a good girl, never a problem, used to put herself to bed 🤣 if I was a bit late.

Anyway, she needed that bit more, to get her fully fit - Michelle and Deb had a space in their hearts to heal when lovely Lavinia passed on, so Matilda went to them.

Oh my life, she walked in and made it her own, like she had been there forever ❤️ totally took over the house, bossing the girls round so she got exactly what she wanted, it was lovely to watch 😻

She weighed 4kg - over double her original weight when she came in - she had a clean bill of health and....Normal Poo 🎉💩🎉 So she was spayed, sailed through it, then had vaccinations - no bad effects.

So, although it has taken 2 years, with a lot of heartache, cleaning, vets bills, medication, special food - she is a perfect, gorgeous and happy little cat.

And the girls appear to have fallen for her, and she most definitely loves them, so we have an inkling she may have found her forever servants 🤔 🤔 😻🤣🤣❤️

Come and see us today at Pets at Home Merry Hill ❤️❤️

We are here collecting for the cats and kittens in our care, during the Pets at Home Foundation special rescue weekend. Jess and Kez are there now, Jan and Andrea later 😻

They have a special offer on for doggy nail clips in the Groom Room as well, so we can have doggy cuddles while collecting 🤣

Thank you to all the colleagues and customers at Pets at Home for looking after us ###

Garden kittens update ❤️❤️❤️

We caught Mom!!!

We picked up 4 little babies Wednesday evening, as their mom had left them in a garden - we believe she moved them after an encounter with a fox, but had not gone back to them, so they were all crying, hungry and needed their bladders emptying.

The trap was left for Mom as we knew she would be as distressed as her babies. The lovely neighbours kept a close eye on the trap - letting a pigeon out of it yesterday - but Mom walked round it.

Heather and I went and we played a recording of her kittens crying, used tuna, moved and covered the trap, absolutely no sign of her, until we were packing the car up to come away, giving advice to the neighbours - and CLANG!! Off went the trap - She had finally gone in to it!

She is very frightened, but very pleased to be reunited with her babies, and they are absolutely so happy to have their Mom.

So ALL are now safe, no more babies for her, Happy New Life starts here for them all ❤️❤️❤️

These little ones came in to us last night.

Their Mom was abandoned sometime ago, with others, and she has been having kittens in gardens, which have either passed away, killed by foxes, or taken away by other rescues.

We've been told foxes were seen after them the night before, so Mom moved them to where they were found, and she had not been back, so they were all very hungry and crying.

Our Heather was able to make space for them, so they came in to keep them safe, and we are trying to catch their mom, who has been named Topsy by the lovely locals who feed her.

She has been seen this morning, so we are hopeful she will be caught today, as they are missing their Mom, and no doubt she is missing them.

Please send your good wishes to this little family, 🙏🤞we can reunite them as soon as possible, then it will be a new wonderful life for them all ###
