Hands On Wednesfield Making Wednesfield and Fallings Park a better place to live, work and play.

Hands On Wednesfield is a community group made up of volunteers from Wednesfield and Fallings Park who work to make their local area a better place to live, work and play. Formed in 2015 from the ashes of the now defunct ‘Wednesfield and Fallings Park Local Neighbourhood Partnership’ we are involved in a wide range of community activities, some of which we lead on and some we collaborate on with o

TOMORROW: Lancaster Bomber Crash 80th Anniversary Memorial – Wednesfield

Join us for a moving day of remembrance on Saturday 17th May 2025 as we mark 80 years since the Lancaster bomber crash in Wednesfield.

Here’s what’s happening:

What’s On:

10.15am – Gather at the memorial site (corner of Lichfield Rd & Lyndale Drive)

11.00am – Memorial service led by Minister Terry Braithwaite

12.00 noon – Join us at the Royal British Legion (Vicarage Road, WV11 1SF) for refreshments and conversation

2.05pm – Lancaster Bomber flypast (back at the memorial site – weather permitting)

Additional Info:

Parking is available at Wednesfield Academy (Lichfield Rd entrance, WV11 3ES) from 10.00am–2.30pm

Free order of service booklets will be given out

Attendees include:

- Relatives of the crew

- Mr Sam Kendall and RAF CCF Cadets from Wednesfield Academy

- Local veterans (Wolverhampton Branch)

- St Gregory’s Marching Band

- RAF Cosford will have a stand at the Royal British Legion

All are welcome — it promises to be a truly memorable day for our community.
