Dear all,

I am really pleased to share the attached letter with you regarding the reopening of Kinver Scout Camp.

After what has been a difficult period following the closure of Kinver, we are now in a position to look positively to the future and begin the work needed to bring this much-loved site back to life.

There is still plenty to do, and we will need the support of our volunteers and wider Scouting community, but this is an exciting new chapter for Kinver Scout Camp and for Scouts Hereford & Worcester.

Please take a few moments to read the attached letter, which sets out more about our plans and the journey towards reopening in Spring 2027.

Gone Home: Dave Roberts

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Dave Roberts has Gone Home.

Dave gave an incredible 46 years of service to Scouting, supporting young people and volunteers across Wolverhampton North and West Mercia Scouts.

Dave began his Scouting journey with 1st Essington, taking on many roles throughout his years of service, including Cub Scout Leader, Assistant District Commissioner, District Commissioner for Wolverhampton North, County Training Assessor, and many other roles.

His dedication to Scouting, his willingness to support others, and the impact he had on so many young people and volunteers will be remembered with great affection.

Thursday 8th October 2026
3:30 PM
Bushbury Crematorium, WV10 7JG

Following the service, everyone is invited to continue to the British Legion, Short Heath.

Our thoughts are with Dave’s family, friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and Scouting alongside him.

Edit: the issue has now been resolved so any incidents should be reported as normal.

Please be aware that there is an issue with the on line Safety Incident Reporting Form. The issue is being looked at by the safety team and hopefully will be resolved soon.
If an incident does occur that needs reporting the advice is to maintain local records then report on line when the system is back up and running. Any significant incident should still be reported following the Purple Card procedure.
